Feb 10th, 2023 - 3:14AM EST (USA) RIP to Mr Burt Bacharach - he was an absolutely prolific, iconic song writer -- songs full of dynamics, beautiful transition chords, heavenly arrangements and he injects a lot of space into these incredible songs - for the songs to breathe. As a musician who plays seven instruments proficiently and has had songs published -- I can attest to his unique songs which all sound completely different from one another. He was a great one - RIP, good sir.

This a major "ok boomer" circumstance 😂😂😂. She is a legend and we can respect her amazing work while still respecting the work of more current musicians, or at least not disrespecting contemporary artists. You dont have to like it but there is no reason to go around deciding what art is. If you dont get it than it's not for you. Mumble rap isnt a medium that I like but it is important that I view it as an artform so my fringe artforms that I appreciate have a place. If we discredit all the art mediums we dont like then we are slicing away so much space for artists to make thier work. Just because it's not for you doesnt mean you should say what they are doing isnt art.

In the 60's, my parents (same age as Burt) had all these popular Bacharach albums, sitting around which I played repeatedly. They also had "Switched on Bacharach"...which damaged me (in the good sense) for life. Like listening to Kraftwerk doing a lounge cover of Bacharach. Ah the things memories are made of! Rest in composers' peace, Burt...

I miss the days when songs were produced without auto-tune and singers had real talent. Dionne's voice had a quality that was unmatched...and didn't need computer help to wrap itself around those notes in everything from clipped to drawn out with changes so rapidly and smoothly done that I doubt most so called singers today could't do it without out the help of a computer

@@c3dmf4s So then, just enjoy the current generation where most so called singers can't hit the notes in a song without autotune. lol. Also, no need to scream, (typing everything in caps) it makes you look unhinged.

Dionne's voice "had" a quality that was unmatched? It still does. At least it did when she sang on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" which aired on December 16, 2022.

@@jerjorju Sorry the the context wasn't clear. I wasn't using 'had' as a past tense - such as her voice was better back then than now. I was using is as a comparison...as in she back then, (she had) a voice that was not enhanced (autotune), unlike most singers today who can't get by without it. I guess I should add....just because some people like to apply/add their own narrative to what others say.... I am Also Not suggesting that Dionne needs or uses autotune now -- in the past that tech wasn't available and she Had the ability to sing beautifully...and would not have needed it, even if they had such stuff back then.
