From our 6th Season of Paramount's hit 80s TV series, "SOLID GOLD", enjoy our host, DIONNE WARWICK and MICHAEL MCDONALD singing a duet of their hits, “I’LL NEVER LOVE THIS WAY AGAIN” & “I KEEP FORGETTIN’”, arranged & produced by myself (Solid Gold's musical director and theme composer, Michael Miller - aka "Mickle"). This aired on March 15, 1986, introduced by Billy Dee Williams.

Thank you for your kind words about my arrangement, and I’m glad you enjoyed the duet. Someone else had posted it some years ago, but the audio and video quality was not very good, so I’m glad I found my own videotape of it, which is a pretty decent quality even though it’s 35 years old!

@@bigeyezzzzzzz I should say so, Michael!!! Back in the 1980s it had been said that VHS videotape or even Betamax videotape would break down over long periods of time. Well, 35 years is a testament to the staying power of videotape. You must have stored them well.

This woman! Who could she not sing well with? And that ending is everything: 🎼 "I keep forgetting that I'll never love this way again." 🎶 Brilliant! And to think she could have recorded "On My Own" with Mr. Blue-Eyed Soul himself, Michael McDonald.

The blending of the musical ensembles on "Solid Gold" was an unexpected, but brilliant, part of the music having magic part. As musical director, you were like a "musical magician," and often participating even more directly than the usual backstage efforts, as here, with keyboards. It all came together so well!!! The finished product was so polished that it shined like gold...Solid Gold.

Thank you, sir. The music certainly does have magic, but it takes a bunch of really good musicians to make it seem like I’m some sort of magician! All I did was wave my wand around and they did all the hard work! 🤗

The "Solid Gold" band, whether the early in the series Dionne Warwick band or the band that you had put together, were an excellent group of musicians and the backup singers were as well. The entire show and every production and performance within was an ensemble, with each person having fit nicely as vital components of a product that became a well-polished product. Under your direction, they were the best music show band on television.
