Our daughter just turned 9 and uses the Diono Monterey high back booster seat and she totally loves it! We kept her in a 5 point harness untill she was almost 8 and then moved her into a high back booster. She loves the seat because its comfy and she gets her owne cupholders and my husband and me love knowing how safe she is on every car journey!❤

Ok this is quite possibly the best video I’ve seen on a diono seat lol honest and informative. I’ve been struggling HARD to choose between diono radian seats, and the more I look into it the more I’m thinking they’re all the exact same seat just the more premium versions come with more accessories? I’m so confused lol. My 3 year old wants a pink seat, but right now I can get the “upgraded” versions in black or grey for the same price.. I’m just trying to figure out wtf the difference is lol.

Hey so generally speaking they are all the same seat frame but then its just additional bells and whistles tacked on to different models. And to be clear I am not saying that is good or bad but like it is one seat style and then additions or subtractions based on things people may want. The versions that have the head piece on the interior that move up and down sometimes function better as a booster seat because IN THEORY you can adjust it down if the kiddo is short. I would argue if you need the shoulder strap of the car seat adjusted lower your child is probably too small to be in a booster seat. The ones with the shifting head rests get better booster seat fit ratings from IIHS if I remember correctly. The head pieces can also be useful if a kiddo falls asleep and you don't want as much side to side drop off. If the kiddo is rear facing I would probably buy up to a version that is compatible with the anti rebound bar which is used in rear facing mode. If the kiddo is forward facing I wouldn't worry about that. Hopefully this is helpful for you and she loves her pink car seat :)

What’s recommended as safest seat for an adhd mom who’s bad at installs and bad at adjusting? 😢 I’m so paranoid about bad installs but I’m also so impatient and have no idea how to adjust most of them

Hey there! So I also have ADHD and I love this question. The easiest installations are ones that have an open belt path so you can see what you are doing and good lock offs. Now I typically don't say this but both Chicco and Graco have seats that have QR codes on the seat to show you how to install stuff. Video demonstration for me is CRITICAL and having it printed right on the car seat is pretty clutch. I think the Graco turn to me or a Chicco Next fit are both good options that have QR code instructions and pretty cost effective. If you wanted the easiest ever I would say Britax Click Tights are awesome as well because it's pretty darn fool proof and they install very tightly. Nuna is great too but more expensive. Hopefully this helps and remember you want to pull on the car seat once it is installed at its installation point with your non dominant hand and look for less than an inch of movement left to right and front to back :)

Owner of Diono 3QX, a similar product. The unrestricted belt path was a minus in installation, and it is too narrow for dad’s hand to thread the belt through, even for my skinny hand and arm for a man. But the simpler design also cuts down mechanisms and makes all the features more robust. The quality of cushion, belts and buckles is definitely higher than the other seat Evenflo Revolve 360 next to it.

Hi! I appreciate the comments but just for clarification the seats next to it in this video are the clek foonf and the nuna exec. The black seat on the end is the Britax One 4 Life. So just incase anyone is confused there is no evanflo revolve in this video at all. But I agree that Diono is nicer than the Evanflo Revolve in terms of padding and buckles.

​@@destinationbabykids Sorry I meant that WE have an Evenflo Revolve 360 installed next to the Diono in our van. But in your earlier videos, it did take me some time to understand the logos on the seat backs are irrelevant to the child seat products you considered.

Am I crazy or is my new Diono faulty lol? I cannot get it to stand upright?! Is this because it’s so top heavy? It will not sit upright on its own.

Unless you have a van or full size SUV like a suburban a Diono is awful for rear facing. I have two forward facing and they're great for that but rear facing they take up an insane amount of room.
