I used to have the original and I loved it. Now I decided to buy this new Parfum version (due to a few great reviews online) and got very disappointed. It has an added sweetness that makes it much heavier/dense and (to my opinion) annoying. I regret buying.

FP is great. However, Fedt still ahead of the game. Probably one of, if not the best scent ever made. Another flanker that doesn't get much hype - F cologne. Very underrated IMO, a real grower - excellent spring, summer scent. With all of the F line (in particular those mentioned above) less is more - so go easy on the trigger!

I bought the original when it came out. You nailed it with your ambivalence and reservations, which exactly matched mine. I hardly dared wear it, though I recognised it as something special and different. My bottle of it became largely ornamental, though strangely, I intend to revisit it.

As much as I usually fangurl over Le Parfum, nothing beats the original. And since I can't find a legit vintage bottle, I'm grateful the current edt formulation has the signature note amped back up. Perhaps not the level of yore, but much higher than 3 years ago. Look for 2017 bottles when you buy, if you're a fan.

Have you ever tried ferrari uomo, it's an excellent variation, I would say to Fahrenheit, a better more wearable fragrance, you can pick it up very cheaply, and the performance is very good to, I love it, have a look at a reviewer called scent land, he gives it an excellent review. I love the vintage original. The new formulation is sadly not at all the same. I didn't particularly care for the Parfum version at all unfortunately.

The original vintage EdT is undoubtedly one of the most original and grounbreaking men's fragrances. I can understand that the Parfum could be a let down to some but I have grown to appreciate its unique qualities.

Love both of these... I have a bottle from 1989 and it has an even stronger violet note than the 'normal' vintage bottles from the 90s... I love every version of this that I have ever smelled though and I have a bottle from around 2014 or 2015 I think as well and it is still really good but different when compared next to the old stuff... I also love the EdP as well... I just love this juice... Awesome job as always...

Dior Fahrenheit EDT has had various formulations. Among these formulations, the January 2015 batch has toned down petrol and burnt wood accords and develops a cucumber note, making it office appropriate. The mid 2015 batch presents the full range of notes and doesn't develop a cucumber note, making it more interesting out of the office. In either case, I would follow a day wearing the edt with a night wearing the EDP. This is a smooth, dark, sweet, boozy fragrance. I don't smoke, though I doubt any smoker would find this fragrance too dark and boozy even for work. Casual Friday? worth a try!

The EDP is rank!! That nice fruity petrol smell has been replaced with a minging dated vanilla smell that you could get away with wearing if you're 80+ year's old to hide the smell of piss, this is no where near as nice as the EDT, the EDP smells really dated.

I had been looking for this smell of this fragrance for year long time ago when I was young kid .. a European dude forgot hes fragrance battle or he thought was not enough for hem .. so I saw it and I keep it with me and use it for couple days .. now I just got it . And I love it . But I think I going to try and see how stay with me when I work .. Tricky to recommend one but for 50 pounds you can do well. A Creed Aventus clone such as l'Aventure by al Haramain could be a good bet. Available on eBay. Sniff Aventus in a dept store first to see if you like it.
