Because most people don’t buy jewelry often and there isn’t as big of a market for this in the states. Desk jobs are needed for a lot of things because everything nowadays needs more and more papers to type and sign. Also, the fact that these pieces are so rare is what makes them so expensive. In my opinion, it might also be harder for most people to design and craft jewelry as oppose to typing a paragraph and filling some documents. And if you do make it as a jewelry designer, you will be competing with big brands. Most people buy their jewelry from big brands so they can flaunt that they have money and big brands job requires individuals exceptionally skilled, or well connected.
