DHI has the following formulas that you can find printed on the boxes:
- 03214 / A (the vintage, from 2007 to *don't know what month of 2011)
- 05443 / A (the first reformulation, from *don't know exactly what month of 2011 until june-july 2014)
- 08666 / A (the second and current reformulation, from june-july 2014 until current date)
The timeline of the formulas I managed to obtain with the help of the batch codes, you can find batch codes explained in the video.

Fragrance Tattoo Fragrance Tattoo Hi again, i’ve found another bottle 2013 DHI that i’m interested in buying. But, the batchcode is ”3J01” and it’s a tester. And in the video you say that from 2008-2017 the letters are N-Z. Everything else seems fine accept the batch code and the color of the juice. The color of the juice looks exactly like dior homme parfum juice. Thoughts?

Nice video, time and money put into making this! I got 5P01 DHI, so that's 2015. This and my 2009 YSL opium pour homme EDT are the only fragrances that I get whiffs of even after 10 hrs, with only 2 sprays, it's no joke. I don't understand people saying it's been watered down, how much of a bomb were the previous versions then? It's just a phenomenal juice!Cheers!

I also have the 2015 batch and I am totaly satisfied with it. Good projection and longevity. I will do a "VS Series" episode with all my DHI batches. By then, maybe I will find 2011 and 2012 batches so there will be no room for speculation any more on which batch is the best. Cheers!

DHP does not need a reformulation at this moment. My both 2015 and 2016 batches have the formula number 08642/A. I don't have a 2014 DHP but it has to be the same formula. It will get reformulated when a new DHI or DHP or DH will come out on the market, something like an Absolute version or whatever it will be called. I am happy with my 2015 version of DHI, don't feed into the craziness generated by reviewers that post videos on youtube or reviews on forums just for the sake of posting so they can create a stir so they can get more attention for their channels. They just make it seem bad, something like 2015 is worthless. It is indeed a bit toned down than the previous versions but it is still one of the best fragrances on the market. And watch out, because that 2015 formula is actually the same with the formulas from far as may-june 2014 (when the second reformulation started). I am not sure about january to april 2014 batches if they are also the second reformulation or not. If you are not sure of it, go test the heck out of it in a Sephora or what shop has it in your area. If you like a stronger version with wood&leather notes just go for DHP, it has the best performance from the Dior Homme flankers out now on the market. It is also more masculine. I hope this helps you.

Check the formula number also. Watch my video to understand batches. I explained in the video that the letters from A to M start from 1998 to 2007. In 1998 DHI did not exist, so the next ten year period is 2008 to 2017 but that has the rest of the alphabet starting with the letter N. So the next period that could contain K starts with 2018, get it ? I hope I was as clear as possible.

Johnny E The difference between the batches is barely noticeable, people on forums and KZbin make it seem like the current DHI on the market is a different fragrance from the original one. I hardly doubt anyone could tell what DHI formula you are wearing. DHI is still DHI.

The first reformulation took place in 2011. So, 2013 is the 1st reformulation, which i find quite different from the original 2007 one. I own 2 2008 bottles and one from 2014 (january). I can see differences, the 2008 are smoother and vannilic, while the 2014 is more loud on iris and amber, making it very lipsticky and sweet. Still a performance bomb, but i tried a 2012 batch once, it vanished from my skin, maybe Dior got it wrong short after the reformulation in 2011/2012, and fixed it after a while. Now is the performance of your 2013 batch Johnny?

Check the formula on the box. Ask for pictures from the seller. I can not remember if 2018 had the same formula as the 2015.

I did not try 2018 batches so I can not know. If someone gets a "monster" out of the spray it does not mean that it would work the same for you. There are a lot of factors that come into play regarding this aspect.

If it starts with 2 it is mandatory to be 2012. There was no DHI in 2002. Batches repeat every 10 years. I do not know if it authentic or not. If the seller has a good reputation then you must not worry.

Yes, it has suffered 3 reformulations. I can not explain how, I have a fake vintage DH that has a formula code that has been a rare one. It has the formula 01792/A written on the box. This would make actually 4 formulas. The performance has decreased but can be repaired if you apply more of the fragrance. Go for 3-4 more sprays.

I recently got one from the 05543A batch but the code is 0X03. Does the 0 mean its from 2010? Or is it a fake?

You mean 05443A probably. That is the formula number. The batch is 0X03 , that is a 2010 batch. The 2020 batches should not have the formula 05443A because it has been refomulated sinve 2010 so the formula number should be higher. So that is for sure a 2010 batch. I can not know if it is fake or not. The crooks just copy paste the info they found on the authentic they faked. If you bought it from a trusted seller , don't worry about it beeing a fake.

Yes. That is a 2009 batch. Formula 03214/A even if you don't have the box. You should have the silver collar around the neck of the atomizer.

Great video. If you google "dhi raiders of the lost scent" there is a blog that compares many versions of DHI. The consensus is that all first reformulations DHI up to the middle of 2014 are the same. I have two bottles of 2014 DHI and can confirm BOTH have 05 "formula". My batches are 4R02 and June 4T01. So somewhere past June was when they changed the formula. You should do a follow up video where you compare all the bottles you have. I have given up hope in finding vintage, and I won't pay the ridiculous eBay prices for it.

I see no performance difference between the batches I showed in my video. Smell wise, I can only tell a difference only if I pun my nose straight on the place from my skin where I just sprayed. The old 2009 might feel fuller. If you wear any of them and walk by someone, they will never know wich one you wear.

There is not much to compare. The first formula is a bit deeper and fuller than the ones that followed. It is still the same fragrance.

My 2014 is from December (4Z01) and is 08666/A, I also own a 2016 bottle of DHI (6Z01), formula 08666/A. My 2014 is as potent as the 2013 sample I used to own. Regardless of batch variations, DHI is a Legend!

@@tattoofun2003 today i worn my dhi and i wanted to crosscheck with you on the performance if i may... today i get up to 4 hours of sillage (the scent goes upward to my nose from my neck) is it the same as what you got with dhi ?

@@powdmizu6379 Performance depends on a lot of factors. Of course you will smell what you sprayed on your neck for some good hours. I usually keep the fragrance I wear that day with me and I spray one more time after two maybe three hours, this way I keep the projection at it's best. I also shower after I get home so I can not say I am using it like you mentioned so we can compare.

And yes the first 2-3 hours is going to be very noticable i get that as well but i do not respray again untill the 5-6 hour mark.. because again like i said i wanted to test the "sillage x projection" and to crosscheck it with yours... i Assume if you wanted to check the Longevity you just sprayed it somewhere on your arm and clarivy until the scent goes to skin scent then dissapear... sorry for the rambling

I do a lot of searching on individual sellers. You can not find vintage fragrances on retailers, they are supplied with new batches so the only way for me to find a vintage is by asking small individual sellers to look in their stock to tell me the batches they have.

+john adair I have a fake of DH and the formula on the box is 01792/A and I totally truat that the fake copied the first version and that the formula writen on it is the same that the first formula had. The formula was produced until early 2011 or late 2010. I had the opportunity to buy a 2013 batch that had the 05434/A formula writen on the box so that should be the first reformulation done by Francois Demachy (the in house perfumer of Dior). The first reformulation was produced until late 2013 or mid 2014. My current batch of DH has the 08853/A formula on it and is the 4Z03 batch and is produced in december 2014. This is the second ref

+john adair 4N is january 2014 and the formula number is the first reformulation. The fact that is 50ml makes me doubt it would be a fake. It depends on how it has been stored (exposure to light or high temperature or even low temperatures) may very well distort it's performance.

Hey, I just bought a DHI bottle with batch code 4P02 but I’m curious if it‘s legit. Compared it to my 2019 batch (9E02) and it smells very different. Also there‘s like a thin layer of dark „foil“ on the sides of the 2014 bottle to make it darker and also on the bottom. I never saw a 2014 bottle before but is/was this a thing? Saw a few pictures on the web where it seemed like there’s another „layer“ on top of the glass (bottom of the bottle). Maybe you can clear this up! :)

Many fragrances with poor performance can still be smelled on skin after 2 days, especially if patchouli is a base note. The most important thing is how long can you smell it without trying after spraying it.

I never knew Dior has batches with 08 after the letter. I do not know of that is a 2020 because I did not look into the way Dior does batches on the new DH line. So that should be a 2020 by the batch, never a 2010. Prior to the new DH line, there were only 01, 02, 03 and 04 at the end of the batches.

Now I own bottles from all 3 formulas (03214, 05443 and 08666), in my opinion, the best DHI formula is the 05443 (2011 - June 2014), it is a fragrance with more richness and mass appeal than the vintage and the current formulation. On my skin, all 3 have the same performance, which is 10+ hours, however, they differ in projection. 03214 and 05443 projects for 2-3 hours. 08666 however, projects for an hour and a half. Still... DHI is a true masterpiece.

There's a 4th batch that came out in mid 2017 - Formula 10950/A. Where did you buy your 08666/A batch and what year is it? I have two bottles of that batch from 2016 and I was pleasantly surprised by the strength after reading some reviews that mentioned it wasn't as strong as the previous 2 formulas.. I had over 4 hours of strong projection and 12 hours later I was still getting whiffs of it here and there. I bought it from an authorized seller Where did you buy your 08666 bottle?

I can not remember exactly but years ago I had this weird thing also with an Azzaro Chrome, the formula was precisely cut from the box, the fragrance was sealed in celophane, untouched, brand new.

There are individuals that still sell the vintage but they ask for huge price. I was lucky to find for 130 dollars all three: the DHI vintage 100ml, the DHI from 2014 of 100ml and Dior Homme Parfum of 75ml.

I'm not sure if it's solely ran by a single guy, Andre Moreau. He has a blog(?) called 'Raiders of the Lost Scent' and he's also posted on at least Basenotes and Facebook group(s). On one of his pages from back in April, he has posted info involving 05443/A, 08666/A, and others. It actually might be largely/in part a guest post. Look for that post, April 20th, 2016. +Jouhotehmonk I searched the blog and found it, didn't find the post you said but I see they have good presentations. I never take info from others and present it as my own. The thing with batch codes and reformulations isn't someones invention, the info has already been there. I'm into fragrances since the early-mid '90s, there was no internet back then, I was always present on the local area. I started the reviews on KZbin because I want to share my knowledge gathered over the years with anyone interested. I'm more into quality info and material with substance rather than marketing or hype, something that lots of reviewers do for their personal benefits. Glad you like my "Fake fragrance" series, back in the days there were some old school methods that we used to discover fakes: shaking the bottles to see if the bubles created disappear quickly or spraying on glass to see if it's dripping without leaving a thick trail ... lots of crazy things. Let me know if there is a specific fragrance you would like to see in the "fake" series.

+Jouhotehmonk The number code thing 08666/A and the other two are about the formula of the fragrance. I have a 75ml fake Aventus on the way. There are no Montale fakes out there, at least not to my knowledge. I do not have Tuscan Leather but you can see Tobacco Vanille in my newest Fake Dior Homme Intense video. All fake Private Blends from Tom Ford look the same, dark smoky glass on bottle, they only change the plate in front with the name. Two of them have a different glass color, Neroli and Jasmine Rouge. Le Male is also coming. The one that I don't have is 1 million, but it is counterfeited also, I could find it.

Hi I have batch 4U02 and they cut the formula number on the box and put a sticker with another number and I just removed the sticker to see what was under ,and I just found they cut the box to remove the formula number . jorge gonzalez there is no need for them to cut out the formula out of the box material. There is nothing to hide. DHI is a solid fragrance no matter the year.

This is how it works : "1" could mean 2001 or 2011, DHI didn't existed in 2001 so the logical choice is 2011. "N" is for sure january ... so I am glad you told me this, this is on the edge ... if it has the silver rim (neck) around the black atomizer it is the vintage! Do you still have the box ? Does it have the N° 03214/A writen on the bottom of the box ? You are pretty damn close of having a vintage!
