DIOR HOMME INTENSE 2020 | FIRST IMPRESSIONS & COMPARISON

The buzz about this release is primarily: what is it like compared to the original 2011 release? The typical query is: better or worse? I owned the original and found it difficult to wear because it was so sweet. In certain situations it was an absolute rockstar but there are few of those situations. As long as they keep the Parfum similar to the original Parfum, it's a perfect lineup. Everything that was great about the original Homme and Homme Intense is in the Parfum.

I prefer the new one honestly,the old formulation was straight up lipstick bag after 20minutes,the new one is a lot more wearable and mass appealing.

Great review man! Any experience after drydown? What do you think, does any alternative exist for the older version? I mean any good fragrance with iris.

The iris was too much for me in the old one, its all i could smell in the drydown . I love the new one that i believe has the same formula code as the last few years, great video, just what i was looking for.

The best way to find an OG is to join a fragrance community/forum and ask around - someone will be decanting or selling some.

If anyone is wondering why this review and Ashe’s 1st impressions about DHI 2020 sound exactly the same that’s because they are, they’re friends and have shared their opinions, which shows how biased their opinions can be. I find that to be quite unreliable. 2011 and 2020 DHI are practically the same, the Perfume Guy and Redolessence are more honest about this with their reviews. Peace.

What do you think about Dior Homme Parfum?

Thankfully they didn't completely destroy DHI! I have multiple batches ranging from 2010 (Silver Collar) 2013, 2015 and now the 2020 batch. I would say the 2015 batch the year that everyone said that DHI has gone down the drain in terms of performance and different smell etc. I can definitely attest that after 2014-2015 the iris definitely has been neutered and toned down. However, on a more positive note, it does make it more wearable and more versatile. The changes definitely weren't necessary but as you said Dior is heading towards the safer route. I'll enjoy it for what it is and use my vintage batches more sparingly. I'm happy at least DHI will continue to live on.

Dude step out of the Dior Homme line you have enough, get some Farenheit and Sauvage and you will love Elixir , get some Armani Code Absolu some of the new Armani EDP, and Bleu De Chanel edp if you havent already got them. Farenheit had that Kerosene smell at the start but dont let it fool you its bern around for 30yrs only champions stay that long. Also Aqua Di Gio Profumo has the OG DNA with some incense and wood notes its a master piece.

@@dazzac74 I have a sizeable collection nearly 200 bottles at this point. Even with my comment 2 years ago I was at the 100+ bottle mark. Trust me I'm quite spread out. I just love my DHI and always will.

@@Zetsumei88 I havent had a chance to wear it as yet officially but i got the DHI 2020 and i really like it and with colder westger coming on in Australia it will be perfect. Im not a nishe man not because of price but alot are just overpriced urine lol, but i am going to pick up Tom Ford Oud Wood thats the only nishe i like, im trying out the new 1 million Edp Elixir tomorrow but nothing can beat the Sauvage Elixir that is next level, ive got just on 50 but i buy more for what I like not what i think will get me comiments but quality over quantity for me. Im actually hooked on a cheapie by Versace The Dreamer at the moment the tabacco dry down is brilliant plus so.much history in that particular fragrance.

By 2011 do you mean 2011 batch? Because it's been reformulated 3 times after 2011. 2017 was the last time it was reformed so 2020 still has the same formula code and smells identical to 2017 of course

Had a 22 version 50 ml - that wanted to upgrade to an 100 ml… the 2017-2022 was much better than 23 version.. think they jus chances it again now 😢

What's performance like on it? How many hours til it becomes a skin scent & how many hours altogether until you barely notice it at all unless you really dig deep sniffing the spot it was applied at & still not really noticing it?

I just purchased DHI (full presentation) from FragranceX, and mine has a bee on the atomizer too. I've read other KZbin comments saying the same.

I used to have the 2011 bottle. After I finished that bottle I went to the store and smelled the 2016 or 2017 batches and they were not the dhi I loved. I hope this I'll have same taste with 2020 version. I missed dhi and Im obsessed with the original. I'm also curious about performance. Can you give more thoughts about performance too. Goodbye

I'm getting a similar 2-3 hours of performance before I feel I can barely detect the scent (but do think it's still there just not projecting much). For me, DHI versions where the logo is on the cap are reserved for intimate settings where it's colder or cool weather but I won't be outside as much. So basically if it's fall, winter, or early spring & I'm going inside on a date, cuddling at home w/ someone, or sex is where I'm gonna go w/ DHI cap logo version

I don't mean to dampen your love for the original DHI, but I honestly find nothing masculine about its scent. I do love the Parfum, though, because it smells masculine to my nose. I'm thinking I might actually prefer the new version after watching your review.

The more I smell it the more I go back and forth between the two - the qualities that are appealing about both are very different, and I find there's a place/a use for both. I'm not so sure I have a favorite at this point, but the original gets a nod for being different and not necessarily mass appealing. @@StudioScents Yeah, I definitely understand your dilemma because the two fragrances smell very different from each other and have very little in common. And it's only my guess at this point but the new version might do considerably better commercially because it doesn't have notes that would be offensive to the masses despite not being so unique. BTW, your reviews are very enjoyable and informative to watch, so you can bet on seeing me around.

Just got mine, I don't think it's a blind buy you definitely have to confident to pull off the 2020 intense cause it does have a feminine vibe but if you can appreciate that and pull it off then it's definitely worth checking out

Original Dior Homma and intense were just not good sellers at allZ i worked in the fragrance industry for a while and never did i have a single customer ask for DH or DHI ever! Sadly as much as i love the original they simply did not make it in the real world....i once i askes my coworkers opinion on DH vs Allure Homme original and Chanel crushed Dior Homme original by 5-0.... the online fragrance is not the real world unfortunately it is sales and the real blending of the fragrance what determines what a good fragrance should be in the overall massive fragrance industry.

I just got a new bottle of it and its horrible. It smells like something baking in the oven. Way overhyped on youtube and way overpriced anywhere. Worst Dior fragrance i own. I couldn't wait to wash that crap off my akin.
