Marla, love your stuff- I have a T bracelet like yours - crinkle up a piece of foil into a glass bowl, sprinkle a bunch of baking soda on it & pour boiling water over & put your bracelet in. Wow. Remove with rubber gloves & rinse w hot water & dry with soft cloth. Perfect, no harsh vibes. Keep up the great content - you nail it every time! 💅

The Gellen kit that I ordered was a bad experience. They were grainy. The base liquid came all goopy & I had to go to Sally’s and buy a base coat. I’m gonna try the powders with my gel liquids and see if I get better results. Glad you had a better experience than I did. It was the first dip kit that I ordered 🥴

I love them and I definitely love the price, but I am confused because I have seen you use the clear dip over the gel. So what your saying is not to use the clear dip, just put the get basecoats cure them clean them off then do the top coat?

That’s correct. I’ve found that clear dip over gel clear gel can cause cloudiness especially over glitter dips

As always, you’re the bomb! I’ve tried a couple of other Amazon brands to save money but have found that they don’t apply well and once you buff and file the pigment is not even, resulting in uneven color. The only powder that doesn’t do this for me so far is Revel. I’d rather get 2 quality powders than 20 that give you a lousy looking mani, especially after all that hard work. Now I do prefer dip liquids so I’m wondering if these powders will work with dip liquids just as well? I really appreciate your honest reviews as navigating through all these brands and techniques is daunting and you are the SME that I turn to in all things Dip related! 💕

Hey love! Are you using clear over your color? That can greatly reduce the removal of color pigment. Yes! You can mix and match any powder with any liquids! ❤️

@@MarlaKris thanks for asking. Yes, I always finish with a clear dip. I feel that some dip powders just don’t cover evenly and you can’t really tell until you’ve put that top coat on. In this instance I did three dips of color and a clear coat and it was still patchy. Never happens with Revel. However I love those Amazon deals where you can get numerous colors and free shipping!! 😀 Thanks Marla!!! 😎

I think the purple color has the same voodeedoo as that lavender colored builder gel you used that one time. I seriously thought that after you put on the protective base gel you already filed, they were so smooth. You should do a set that matches your tattoo! 🐲🐉🖤🖤🖤

Oof.. tough question. Hard to say unless I’m using the exact same colors BUT I do prefer the shine and consistency of the Gellen gels and the pastel formula was very impressive!

Hi Marla, great mani. Those colors are beautiful! After you wipe the tacky layer off and file you don’t need to base coat again so the top coat sticks? I haven’t tried that cuz I’m afraid the top coat will peel off.💜

I’m sorry you had a poor experience! Some powders are thinner/thicker than others. They can vary a lot when it comes to density. This may just require an extra dip for strength 💞

Great question! I usually don’t only because I remove manicures after a coupon days but for longevity, I would 100% recommend a gel base and then gel top ❤️

Gellen offers acryllic and well as "professional" dip powders and I have not had a good experience with acryllic powders yet, so can I request that now that you love the Gellen powders, can you compare them to their acryllic powders. Hey girl! I’m sure you didn’t do anything wrong! Dip with gel is naturally thinner and less strong than dips with resin (dip liquid) so you may just need an extra dip or two! 💙

Hi, I’ve recently been following your channel and love it. I also did the mani that you posted on Feb 28th for Makartt Dippies. I also received so many complements. I loved it.. My issue is that i get the dip flu bad. So I wondered if this dip powder with gel would be better for me? I tried it once using dip powder with Mani boss 2 n 1 and it turned my white tips yellow under the light. I used wonder tips French tips . Any suggestions? I usually wear tips with a french manicure that I like to leave on for at least 2 weeks and actually would like to get longer wear out of my tips and just refill my pinks and whites as the glue on the tips is hard on my nails to keep taking off so often. Any advice would be great!!

Hey Lisa! Thanks so much for watching! I may have some options for you. Yep, gel can definitely discolor powders. So instead of using gel to dip, try a low odor dip liquid. Sundara has a great one. So does sparkle and co. Then, after you’ve dipped and activated and filed, throw on a gel top coat and be on your way!
