Well, since you already finished season 1, you know by now that the first season was mostly setup in episodic form, with only a minor arc of its own. Basically, they spent this season throwing lots of balls in the air - but because they had a decent idea of where they were going, those balls weren't thrown entirely willy-nilly, and they made _very_ sure to keep track of everything, so that in season 2 they could catch nearly all of them, weaving it into an impressive juggling routine that "sticks the landing" (if you pardon the mixed metaphor).

in case you aren't a gaming nerd, the combination dipper did to get the game to come to life is a parody of the Konami code. The Konami code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start) is an easter egg in many games
