Radio Luxembourg reported on passing of Elvis a part of me went that day too and even more so when DJ Mike Hollis said the final words on the station, a sadder closing there has ever been,salutations memories recognition to the great '208',1440khz on am band.

Elvis; I remember when the news broke Radio Luxembourg played Elvis all that evening and in case your wondering, people were phoning for requests for more Elvis songs. A long distance call to Luxembourg was about a fiver in todays money three minutes. You think mobile are expensive. Ordinary calls went through the operator to certain countries.
