This is the best live version of any song in any genre of music, the tone of every instrument is just perfect so is the general mix. Dire Straits should have been prohibited to do studio works but instead record their stuff live xD.

I heard many different version of Dire Straits songs, but IMO the night they recorded this Live...I don't know..they just touch the sky...each song, the way the notes flow perfectly all the way, they didn t just played, they was into it, lost in it, best version ever 👏👏👏when music was MUSIC!!!!

When I was young, i did not understand why my Mom loved to hear this old music from the sixties like Elvis Presley. This was in the early eighties. Breathtakingly tight, accurate hits accents and played emotionally by the band, and played almost to perfection. Hearing this at 16 years old, was what helped make me want to be a pro Vocalist and quality live musician. I’m now 54 and still mesmerized by it. Thx for posting

This version is fantastic, but I like more the one they used to play on the 1985/1986 tour. Check the "Dire Straits Tunnel of Love Sydney 1986" on you tube, the quality isn't the great but even like that, it's still awesome.

As a Geordie, it’s so evocative. Spanish City was a funfair on Whitley Bay seafront. Knopfler is from Cullercoats, just a mile up the coast. Also, Sting is from Wallsend, about 3 miles away.
