Dire Straits. New Zealand Tour - 1986.03.01 @ Auckland

Unreleased concert from the Brothers In Arms Tour. I want to thank Avital Davidzon who shared this recording with the community. He was with the band those months in Australia and New Zealand, shooting images for big screen at big stadiums, and recorded this fantastic show.
I hope he can transfer the audio from the second part with better bitrate and resolution.

I was there in their Christchurch concert. Back then I lived in Queenstown. Towards the end it started to rain heavily.And there was lightling and thunder. I was there in the front row.... But told us to move back away from the metal barricade for safety. The musical instruments were getting soaked with rain....Yet Mark continued playing with his electric guitar. One of the Best Concert EVER i attended. Thank you DS. Thank you Mark. Thank you NZ . Thank you Queenstown. For an amazing experiences. Love from Malaysia

There was two concerts in Auckland, from memory the Saturday (this video) and Sunday both at Mt Smart Stadium in Penrose. I went to the 2nd one so not this actual video but was great of course. I think they added the earlier one after strong ticket sales and I being a total fan boy had already got mine. With 900,000 tickets sold in Australia and New Zealand it was the biggest concert tour in Australasian music history, until it was overtaken in 2017-2018 by Ed Sheeran on his ÷ Tour. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brothers_in_Arms_Tour) That Western Springs entry is wrong pretty sure would be two Mt Smart concerts, they played their previous '82/'83 Love Over Gold tour at Western Springs which was great apparently but I was too young etc at the time.

Según Set List Fm los bises fueron: Telegraph Road (sería un lujo tenerlo, porque según las estadísticas que figuran en esa web sólo fue tocada en 2 ocasiones en todo el BIA Tour, que fueron 248 conciertos), Solid Rock y Going Home Theme. Un concierto más largo de lo habitual en esa gira, con 17 canciones en total.

The tone on Mark's guitar for B.I.A.and Tunnel at the end is so beautiful and mellow. The outro on Tunnel is truly amazing and played with so much feeling and love. Love these guys so much. Saw them in 83,85 and 92. Never tire of listening to them. ❤🎸😎👍

Hey, thank you very much for this tape full live concert. Saw them in last tour, I think in 93, 94...They put a DVD on sale but with lot of music cuts.. Only the last and the slow ones.. What guitar does he play in Money For Nothing, like his rhythm guitar player..? New long time ago Tony Levin Stick Bass but never saw Mark Knopfler play something like that..
