I love Mark Knopfler. I cannot get enough of actually watching him perform live. He LOVES what he does, and that is pretty clear. I love his kindness and care regarding his fellow musicians, and that says a lot about him and his lack of ego. It is not just him up there, the big superstar. No, he is a humble man who gives lots of credit, and obviously gets lots of enjoyment from, his fellow performers, no matter who is up there on the stage with him. I love how he interacts with the audience also. With him, it is all about the enjoyment of the music, and having a good time up there. I have never enjoyed anyone perform as much as I do Mark Knopfler (Greg Lake is a close second). Also, does anyone know why he uses a pick here rather than his usual finger-picking. Not on all the songs, but I have never seen him do that at all. Not ever. Thx.

Mark is like Bob. He never really plays the song the same way too many times. Mark is the master improviser. Like Hendrix always topping his excellence. We are fortunate to have video of his avo session. It's nice to watch the differences and timing of his twiddly bits and riffs from show to show.
