Always good to mention and a good practice, even if not required, to use an expansion joint and a loop w direct burial.

My boss uses Schedule 40 PVC conduit underground and Schedule 80 PVC conduit above grade no matter what. That way there's no arguing with inspector if it is or isn't subject to physical damage.

Do your inspectors give any grace for the last few feet of burial depth not being exact? Like n3xt to the house/pole where the 90°s are?

Do you usually have to wait for the line to be inspected before putting some dirt and the red tape ?

Is direct burial UF-B suitable for medium voltage DC (~480VDC) such as for a PV string? I would have thought so, but somebody somewhere told me that DC produces different chemical interactions with insulating materials that might have some relevant effect.

I want to transition direct burial rated for 100 amps out the ground up outside wall into my attic and into my house panel. I watched both your videos on NM wire in conduit in a wet location and your direct burial video. I have followed all the rules on direct burial and I am out the ground with sch 80 pvc. I would like to install a pvc junction box outside and go from direct burial to nm with splice blocks and run the nm in emt up the wall to attic and then house panel. I think this is against code? What are my alternatives direct burial in sch 80 ran all the way to house panel (which is bulky and a difficult ) or that direct burial in conduit ran up wall and install a pvc j box in attic and then make the transition to nm there? I will appreciate any suggestions thank you videos are very knowledgeable.

Great question, it depends on your inspector on whether or not they will let you have that one junction outside before you go in

Have a question will try to explain, new construction areas for homes that share there 100amp systems, from a mini-transformer, in front of someone 🏡, seen some that are not protected from physical damage, do utility companies have different codes. I always wonder about this HELP

Should my breaker box be outside? It has to be getting wet right? I mean spiders living it everything else. Plus it scares me someone can cut power to my entire home outside which would make my alarm cameras and everything else not work.plus i hate to lock it because one locks easy to cut too and 2 breakers trip in winter because I use space heaters so I frequent the box Lot. PS I think mine sleeves down from roof..
@ElectricalCodeCoach

Great question, it depends on if they use the proper rated panel and proper installation methods, we're actually working on a project right now where we're going to be installing an outdoor panel. Might not hurt to have a license electrician come over and assess the situation.

@@ElectricalCodeCoach yeah all I know is my house has the original fuses in kitchen from 1930s..I don't Think they work. But not really sure. So..they updated the breaker box at some point. Also you should do a video on strange buzzing or picking up radio signals etc. I hear the same african churches sermon every morni if i cut off my ac its pretty loud. Then i can hear it. It starts at like 340 am its so strange. If I leave ac on it usually makes it hard to hear though
