That first splice needs to be in a box, above ground ( use as outlet / code would dictate a cutoff switch to kill power going out has to be installed anyway) .

Nice job. You might have wanted a way to keep the spliced wires sealed and not buried in water. That could come back to bite.
@LivingOurAmericanDream3 жыл бұрын
Agree. I have a good measurement in where the splice is and it’s not a super-important circuit so we’ll see. Thanks for watching.

I am not an electrician but I would have made that joint ABOVE ground in a junction box.

I hope you accounted for voltage drop. And why would you make such a splice, brother

Good video. Great way/idea on running wire.

trust me, you want to redo that first splice

Need a GFCI in that outlet and also that splice will fail eventually.
@LivingOurAmericanDream Жыл бұрын
There is a ground fault receptacle at the beginning of that circuit. Agree on the splice. Not ideal, but when it fails I get to use my cool tractor tool again to run a full brand new line!
@ericdw5678 Жыл бұрын
Why lose that outlet? Not a good idea with the splice. I would have hooked into the box

That subsoiler is sized right for the tractor.

Man I recognize the sound of that hydrostatic transmission. You could have used some AG tires except for the ATV (pulling your tractor) lol. good job though. I bet the splice has held up.
@LivingOurAmericanDream Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that job was one of the few that I needed ag tires, but would have wrecked the yard worse. Splice still holding up. When it fails I’ll dig it up and run new wire, really easy using that subsoiler! Thanks for watching!

Question, please. Do women have success at this job, or will I be bullied until I can't take it? Lol My husband's job won't hire women and he seems to think I will be humiliated. I'm strong, in great shape, and spent years as an ER RN lifting people. Thank you

Electrical wire should be buried in pipe, if not there would be an electrical issue in the future cause of it rotting on plastic covering wire
@LivingOurAmericanDream11 ай бұрын
Hi Michael, you’re actually incorrect. Wire used here is rated for direct burial. Also, when the public utility ran the main underground lines to my shop, they are direct bury, not in pipe (I think you meant conduit).
