Holy cow, James. This is the most impressive & detailed explanation I have ever seen about how all the adjustments ACTUALLY work…and the effect (both individually AND collectively) on how the pedal then feels and plays. Plus, your feel over multiple genres is on display. Thank you! George Kollias said very few drummers really know how to set up a multi-adjustments pedal. I think he was talking about you!

Thanks so much for these videos on the pedals (currently using the lightning fast settings). I struggled a bit with these pedals at first coming from my Axis. Got the heel block riser which made them feel a little more familiar. Your personal settings actually look like something I would like. Going to try it out this weekend.

@@James-Chapman-Drums - Your settings (close to) actually feel a lot better. Much easier for the slower/mid tempo with feeling. Keen to check out the strap drive though.

Thank you so much for these. There are so many adjustments that it’s taken me a while to really dig in and find my ideal ones. Was on Axis AL2 before these so imitating something similar has been challenging for me (didn’t even have real outlandish settings.)

Hey there James and thank you very much for doing this video! I ordered and have on the way and should arrive in late April both the regular right-footed ACD Double Pedal, and also the ACD Hi-Hat Stand. I ordered the Direct Drive Double but also bought the two CAMS (Fatboy and Small Diameter). I went for the two-tone color anodizing for the double pedal and hi-hat stand. Black and Red. I wish to experiment with all to see what I find to my liking. I am going to try you settings from this video. Cheers!! Dana in Washington State USA

Having just bought some of Dennis’s heel blocks for my Axis pedals and witnessed the fantastic quality I’m now very tempted to go the full Darwin FTW route! Great videos by the way dude.

Cool video! My settings are basically the speed setting, but with the direct drive link set to your personal setting, standard spring at max, with Danmar red wood beaters (XL shaft version). That thing hits SUPER hard yet can still play ultra fast. I found I had to change the hoop clamp distance to get this pedal to really feel right, do you have yours at the standard position?

Thanks! I tend to have my hoop clamp pulled all the way in towards the pedal because the Sonor spurs keep the bass drums pretty flat. I actually used to struggle with other pedals fitting right on my Sonor drums but these are great!
