Aaron and Matt traveled out to Aaron's home state, Arizona, to visit BPG, a contractor specializing in directional drilling. We visited with them at the Arizona Construction Career Days convention and then saw a job they were doing for AT&T.

Would love to see more of these kinds of shows, I'd have been all over this as a kid and it might have helped justify my decision at the time to my family to go into this industry. Its a great idea, and that guy from BPG does a great job of engaging those students and showing his passion for what he does.

The main advantage to directional boring is being able to go under structures such as roads that you do not want to trench through. Going through landscaping might not be worth the extra cost of paying for a directional bore machine. Trenching and replacing the grass may be cheaper. But why are they even growing grass in Arizona.
