Unfortunate I missed your live reaction. No one mentioned this but Christian has explained before in a live- When the lyrics say, “He loved you” at the end of the song, it’s not just Ian singing anymore. This line tells that, not only did he love her; all the alters in his consciousness loved her too.

In case no one else mentioned the significance of the eye. He said when he has an episode it feels like he loses an eye, he can’t see things the same. So depictions of him with something covering an eye, him with one eye etc are representative of that.

Hi Dude! That was another level of love... He loved her with all of his alters and he accepts it, even when he knows it couldn't work that way, he knows is a complicated situation to cope with... Now I´m thinking how hard it must be for him being in this position, he's even apoligising for something he didn't choose to live with, is heartbreaking. I want to hug him :(

What i understood about protectors, is that they protect the host from the trauma, but because the trauma is too much sometimes they cope with distructive behaviors, so could harm the body. They know about all the trauma, they handle all the pain so sometimes for us that are outside could look like they are persecutor in a way. But i think the persecutor alter usually dont show much and the existence is like the personification of the trauma or the person that caused the trauma

I wanted to thank you for always considering the generosity of Christian sharing his real pain behind his music, if that makes any sense. Almost all of the reactors I’ve seen reduce his music to fun lore to dissect and kind of…forget the humanity and nuance behind it. I have bipolar disorder myself (though not DID) and recognized myself in his work before I even knew about his diagnoses. It’s been so cathartic to see my experiences depicted so vividly, in a way others can catch a glimpse of what it can be like in our heads.

He mentioned somewhere that the song was about someone who he was with but who then loved the darkness in Mito too much. Probably might be Miss Understood, who I guess is played by CL, another girl in this video and IU in 'Shopper'. I don't know that he ever realled talked more than that about that female character tho. Also, did you notice him crossing the eye out? That's the blind eye for Mito. And the church cross is another Mito reference (cause he's religious, tho Ian isn't). The light from the mirror are another way for him to portray how he cannot properly look at his reflection without closing one eye to tell which alter he is (one side is him and the other Mito). He did that on tour as well with a giant mirror. And Skins is probably a mirror video to this - similar shots with the leaning against walls, "shaking" camera

Hey, friendly internet stranger just coming in to correct some things you mentioned. He actually said that about the 2nd album, which Miss Understood is from. As for who the different girls in his videos are supposed to represent, he's never said, but of course there's mention of past relationships from his IG lives and the Wanted posters from past videos (I believe the movie specifically, probably better seen through the teaser) that tell us Mito is wanted for the murder of Miss Insanity. 🤗

In one of his lives, Ian said that he sees the cross as a protection. His mother who is Catholic, gave him the beautiful cross that he often wears and he said he will wear it the rest of his life, and that it means so much to him. Although he was raised as a Catholic, it seems that he doesn’t presently hold to those religious beliefs. Still, it’s evident that he has interest and insight into spiritualityDuring one live, his mother had come from Australia to visit him. She walked into the room while he was doing the live and gave him the sweetest most motherly hug as she told him she loved him so much, and he lovingly reciprocated. He introduced her to the fans watching. She was so sweet and sincere and gratefully thanked the fans for supporting him. During an another live when he was dipping, he was visibly upset. He did say that he wonders if he will ever be able to have a family because of these disorders. That just broke my heart. I think Ian suffers more than any of us knows. Having DID is indicative of having gone through severe trauma as a young child. It is heartbreaking to know that he has gone through something terrible enough to cause him to disassociate. I pray for him every night. I had been married to someone who suffered with bipolar disorder. I know the pain and sorrow that is involved. I hope Ian continues to get the help he needs, remains immersed in his brilliant creative outlets, and lives a happy, healthy life.

This song and video is by far the one that always makes me emotional and feel so much aside from the new one Skins. Also, if I'm not incorrect from a video or maybe somewhere else I read, that line does mean the fact of Ian in a relationship but with his depression and switches to Mito made it difficult. So those lines meaning I loved you and he loved you is both Ian and Mito did love her but relationship was just hard and pushed her away. I don't think it only means to like a relationship with a girl it can mean to just relationships in general but romantic relationships are hard for him.

I see many people wondering if Mito is a protector or a persecutor bcs he sometimes do things that hurt Ian but that doesn't mean he is not a protector, maybe he's just extreme with it, or also... Some persecutors protect too, even if they do it in a toxic way, they're there for something after all, they're not villains.

At the beginning you can hear her laugh followed by his. Then in the part “im doing fine” there’s a moment when you can hear the gunsh*t. I think (bit ballsy) something really bad happened, that’s why he is covered in blood so that’s why at the end Mito (the protector) comes along.

The eye, and how he closes one eye looking at a mirror. He said he found that way to force a switch and turn into Mito, and he has done that for some concerts, as Mito is more dramatic etc You can see him in here looking at a mirror, also the scene with one beam of light pointing at one eye. He probably wanted to switch into Mito if that girl actually loved or preferred Mito and not Christian or Insanity...

The phrase "he loved you" means that both Mito and Ian loved the girl, but previously Ian mentioned that he can't get used to her manic episodes due to his bipolarity, perhaps that's why, even though he loved her so much, sometimes he didn't know what to do. , because he can't control himself completely, therefore perhaps without intending to hurt her emotionally, I remember that Ian said that in those types of episodes he isolated himself from people, so in the end, even though it hurt him, he had to let her go, although maybe she Guilt will haunt him forever.

Because I think I see the same person actually covered with blood and the almost looking (were)wolf necklace in miito movie part 1 at the end ( scene where red eyes shine in the background " or ist just another reason for us to be awake" ). if i'm not mistaken ian has said in older lives or somewhere else that he started this in order to understand better what happened to him and how to deal with it, so your guess of him trying to create some sort of structure out of this could be correct. i remember him talking about this, but i cant say for sure where and when.

Thank you for your reaction! Ian said that Mito is religious. Ian is not really. So all the religious symbols indicates Mito. Mr. Insanity's goal is to go perfectly insane. (In the Mito-movie he is golden) That is the reason why he wants to open the door in So I Danced. Behind the door you can find his trauma. (Which Ian can't remember) Mito wants to stop him to protect Ian.

He just never mentioned it because of the negative stigma surrounding this disorder but always hinted at it even in past works including his debut ep

Minute 1:13 do you see the cake with the 3 candles. I think it’s on purpose: Ian mito insanity and look at the lights that are hitting Ian . Those are the hybrid colors: red green blue. That’s why I also think it’s so genius of Ian to make the first album cd which is an eye blue with a tint of gold as we learn later in saint that blue eyes is Ian being influenced by the hybrid.
