Ren showed the correspondence. It wasn’t just his words. He invited Kujo and GF to post anything he may have missed. They never did.

Ren didn't bring Kujo's girlfriend into it, she brought herself into it. She played the victim, accused Ren of defamation, falsified a contract and posted it online, and threatened to have Ren's legs broken. In my humble opinion, Ren went easy on her.

Ren buys the Beat from a company called beatstars, the beat was produced by Kujo Beats. Ren takes the sample and does his magic and creates the song Sick Boi using the beat (Ren did a lot of work himself on the beat before using it). Sick Boi blows up and the Bulgarian Choir notice that a sample of their music has been used in the song. The Bulgarian Chior come after Ren for a share of the publishing because their unlicensed music is being used. Rens Lawyer contacts Kujo to tell Kujo that he needs to cover the costs because he sold a beat he did not wholly own (against the terms of the Beatstars contract.. Kujo had to declare any unlicensed samples he used in the beat but didn't) Kujo refused saying it was on Ren to pay the Choir (again the Beatstars contract clearly states the Beat being sold must be wholly owned by the producer selling it and any unlicensed samples must be declared to the buyer before the contract goes ahead). Lawyers get involved and it all goes tits up. Kujo Copyright strikes the Sick Boi song. Ren and Kujo go back and forth trying to resolve it, to no avail. Kujos's Lawyers demand that Ren pay Kujo a £3000 upfront payment, give Kujo a 15% retroactive split on the Master and future publishing. Ren says thats not fair, Kujo sold a stolen sample in a beat he had no rights to do so, and is now demanding more money than he's entitled to. so Ren says NO. Kujo's Lawyer then tells Ren agree to this or we take 100% of the song.... Ren say's F it, I'm gonna take the song down myself neither I nor Kujo will be getting paid for it F that guy!! Ren explains all this in a 34 minute video with much more detail than my footnotes version. So go check that out if you want to.

It wasn't so much to bring more attention to it, but it was more about getting his frustration out. It was cathartic for him as well as the community and now most of us have moved on and let what's his name fade into the background. Kujo has not responded yet at least publicly. Much love ✌️

The girlfriend committed actual libel with false statements of the contract in question and then provided additional malice by physically threatening Ren. She is ABSOLUTELY complicit in the whole affair and justifiably included in the video.

Ren bought receipts. We saw the emails, Reddit comments, chat with Kujo and his girlfriend. Ren encouraged Kujo to post anything he wanted to if he felt anything was left out.

Ren showed all of the emails/texts from the ‘back and forth’; Kujo only came ‘knocking’ when he got caught by the reps from the choir where he (Kujo) took the sample w/o permission. From what Ren posted.. the GF came at Ren with (supposedly) joking that she was going to send someone to ‘break his kneecaps’.. if he didn’t comply with what Kujo and her were demanding; that and the way she addressed him in their back and forth is why he included her in this video! Total support for Ren on this issue; he offered to do a new song/video with Kujo and split 50/50.. that was also dismissed - Kujo just wanted $$ from what he thought Sick Boi would bring him. I took that as HIM being Kujo. Don't think the choir thinks his lawyer used it without permission. This is the one thing that has been bugging me. Because IF the Bulgarian choir did come to Ren, that could also explain maybe why Kujo's publishing was withheld.

@@workingit3055 , yeah, and it was my understanding they went to Ren('s lawyer), who went back to Kujo telling him to take care of it. I thought that originally, and then throughout the rest of the video Ren talked about publishing would be paid when they figured out what the split should be. I have no doubt the choir sample owner went after Ren. People commented about Ren/Sick Boi on the original choir video. Since Kujo never paid (and would they have sold it to him to profit from?), it's possible they only knew about Ren's use. Hopefully they're also going after Kujo at this point.

There is a video out where Ren explained in detail with receipts the entire situation. What started out at as an attempt to get out of Kujo’s own mistake of stealing part of the beat from the Bulgarian choir, he then escalated out of control, past all of the many Olive branches offered by Ren, into the realms of extortion through Kujo and his lawyer demanding to take 100% of everything. The girlfriend was in the thick of it and put online forged contract stipulations to push their side, further slandering him, and then laughed it off with a jest of coming to bust his kneecaps! Without doubt they broke laws and were very stupid. You’re right Ren brought the heat and made KZbin look into it and agreed Sickboi was unfairly hit with a copyright strike.

The girlfriend is the reason for this video. She was especially deceptive. Whatever Ren's motives, he has more to worry about than Kujo. He has to travel back to Calgary for more intensive treatment over a period of months. If Kujo had an ounce of sense he would have agreed to make a new beat with Ren and would have made 50% of the total profits and he turned Ren down.

Great reaction, really balanced. I love the way this video looks like a renaissance painting in certain stills. So dramatic. And the music feels like a film score. Ren went hard on the production as a diss on Kujo in itself, proving he doesn't need to buy beats anymore.

Kujo wasn't authorized to sell the beat because he used a track from the Bulgarian Choir without their permission. Ren bought all the licensing rights from KujoBeats trusting the beat was cleared to sell. Ren mixed and used part of the beat for his song "Sick Boi". Long story short, Sick Boi blows up. Ren uses it for the title track to his album that winds up being the number 1 album in the UK. So Kujo thinks he deserves part of the royalties - after he sold the track to Ren without permission. This was all Kujo's fault and the greedy bastard that he is, was trying to cash in on Ren's success. Watch the video Ren put out explaining the entire scenario. He shows all the text messages between Kujo and Kujo's girlfriend, who inserted herself into the drama as well. BTW... Ren incorporates parts of "Sick Boi", "Hi Ren", and "Money Game 3" in this track that he created and produced entirely himself - ironically, the Money Game trilogy is all about greed.

Many words have been spoken on this Ren track. For me, the most important words in the song are "F*ck it". Since that is the moment Bad Ren and Good Ren get on the same page to take Kujo down.

the "i thought you like it rough" is a reference to a text she send to him to brake his knee cap (with a smilie, but anyway a bit off). He dont want to solve this with lawyers because they can not clear the stolen sample and he thinks the only winner will be the lawyers. In the best case the if he should win the case, kujo have to pay compensation...but we can tell, Kujo is a working class guy how do beats in freetime. So at the end of the day he will sit on the invoices from his own lawyers. But he have now time to find a way to clear the sample with the choir. If he dont find a solution, he will reproduce, sick boi, the whole song with his own beats. btw: Kujo can not copyright strike a beat, what he don't own. I think this is the mainreason why YT stepped in.

I think it is worth noticing that for a brief moment in this video, Ren and Kujo change places. It is Ren tied to the chair and Kujo who is standing beside him. This could be interpreted in various ways. Ren has described his own intentions here. He says that people see situations differently and that it may well be that Kujo genuinely sees himself as the victim in this dispute. Now that may or may not be the case. Quite irrespective of that or of the legal issue here, from what I have seen of the correspondence between Kujo and his girlfriend on one side and Ren on the other, it seems to me Kujo has been milking this situation for all he is worth, and attempting to bait Ren as hard as he can. I think it would take a lot of explaining on Kujo's part to dispel that impression. Let's see how it plays out.

For a moment Kujo was trying to go after Ren and even copyright strike Ren's sick boy in an attempt to "steal" from him. and that was the split second that ren was tied up and kujo was in his face before Ren took back control of the situation....at least that was my take on that 😁

No it was not all from Ren's mouth. He simply put up the receipts. It was copies of the conversations. He also showed the "amended" contract that the girlfriend tried on. Kujo's responses (such as they were as he usually spoke thru his lawyer) are there to be read.

I keep thinking of the affect of 'Kujo Beat Down' on Renegades as a whole. How did they feel? Was it cathartic to see this video and allow some of that anger to be realeased? Do the last words on the screen help to achieve a breakthrough from righteous anger and end up in a space more peaceful? I think so. Kujo Beats can go to hell. Beyond that, Ren has achieved success in this endeavor. Release your anger through music. Release your anger in any way constructive that works for you. Release your anger.

Hi Roscoe, it's my first time on your channel, and I loved your analysis. The ONLY thing I take issue with respectfully is this idea of two sides and the truth. While I understand that idea, it does a disservice to those that are honest throughout. It sometimes encourages the two sides to be more extreme and "pull the truth" towards their side. The fact is that Ren posted what the kids call "receipts" in the 30-to-40-minute video you mentioned, in which he explained the situation. He posted conversations, DMS, etc. He tried to offer Kujo a 50% split of a new project and various other solutions. The girlfriend actually altered contracts and posted them as if they were true while libeling Ren. I respect your halt of judgment and acknowledging we don't hear Kujo's side being represented, but the guy stole a sample from the choir, presented it as his own, and then sought to sue AFTER SickBoi went number 1. Before that, he was praising the work. Again, all offered by Ren. Ren also acknowledged his mistake when his team failed to initially add Kujo to the song with producer credits. Did not mean to make this comment so long, but there was A LOT the happened before Ren got to the point of this song. Anyway, I apologize for the ramble. You have a decent-sized platform, and I wanted you to be informed of the situation. Please do be careful with that cliche of the truth is somewhere in the middle, SOMETIMES one side is sharing the truth and to assume they aren't pulls the truth closer to the liar. As I said, I respect the rest of the analysis and will certainly check out more of your work.

The beat Ren legally bought with Unlimited use, had a uncleared sample within the beat Kujo sold Ren…it was the choir sample in the beat that was NOT cleared. As far as im aware you can’t sell beats with samples that are not cleared…its like stealing. So this is what i feel started this entire thing. Nice reaction as always. Yes, Kujo's beat used an uncleared sample of a choir and sold it to Ren as though it was completely cleared/ Ren's LEGAL use of a choir in this is just an added level of shade on Kujo. Ren tried to give Kujo money he wasn't entitled to just to settle it and move on, but was refused. Ren even offered to do a completely new song with Kujo with a full 50/50 split on the master and all revenue and to bring Ren's fans to Kujo, but Kujo refused.

I was hoping you would have spoken more about the film aspect of this. video. yes it was done very quickly but even so the artistic way he conveys certain parts of the events is brilliant. kujo took the sample from the Bulgarian choir. kujo didn't have the license/certification to sell it. Ren bought the sample with the unlimited option. kujo had no right to ask for more money. so Ren and the choir were getting screwed. my favorite scene starts when Ren says free me. you see a flash of Ren in the chair tied up and kujo where Ren was. then a few choir members are at their feet another flash of Ren in the chair and kujo has the pig mask on. Ren says he put his whole soul into his words legally.....that is when you see the whole choir dead at their feet. Ren wanted to get the Bulgarian choir from the sample into this song but there was not enough time. they may play a role in the remake of sick boi, but we will see....his health has taken a step backwards, he has to go back to Canada for more treatments. I thought this video was amazing. visually it told as much of the story as his vocals. it was elegant in its simplicity. I loved the flashes that revealed the choir in the background. the choir vocals made the scene tense each time they sang. this, to me is a stunning piece of art that has a real story behind it. it holds its own as a film as well. I am glad to see that Ren has horns to hold up that halo. that is a well balanced person. for anyone to think Ren went to far has probably never experienced gaslighting. or perhaps they were holding on to light Ren a bit to tightly. don't forget that kujos girlfriend threatened to "break Rens kneecaps" that is how she warmed her place in the video among other things. the whole video took place in his mind. that was why it was black with a spotlight shining down upon him. once he said his peace and got it out he turned the light out on the subject at the end. Ren having to put that screen at the end is troubling to me, because it shows how sick the world has become. we all love Ren. there is absolutely no question there. Ren has sparked some strange maternal/paternal spark in many of us. I believe it has a lot to do with him showing his own vulnerability, in such a raw bare naked way about a subject many of us older RENegades would rather die than admit there is anything wrong with our mental health. the last line of hi ren, we must not forget that we are human beings ~ gave us a sense of unity. it has been so long since I had last felt that, it took me a while to figure out what I was feeling. when it had gone. why it had gone. which is a whole different rabbit hole of mainstream media news fear mongering and lies and perception management manipulation. also his transparency. he is very giving when it comes to who he is, his story. this is another thing that kindles the desire to be protective of Ren. he has integrity. something that makes him a bit of a unicorn on social media. given that we are subjected to a government that tries to cover up their actions no matter the cost, then uses television and cellphones to gaslight us en masse, so it seems it would make sense that people would hold Ren in such high esteem. he unwittingly gave us something we had been missing. that is why many will charge ahead to save Ren even though he is a capable adult who can handle his business. kujo and his girlfriend are skilled gaslighters. they are a hassle to deal with on a case like this. gaslighters need to be dealt with and amputated as soon as possible. the longer they are in your life the more damaging they are to your self esteem and mental health.

Yes, the genesis of the whole situation was the beat containing the uncleared choir sample. Once Ren's team got wind of the stolen sample they told Kujo is was his responsibility to pay the copyright holders. And if you listen to the choir in this Beatdown, you can pretty clearly hear "sample stolen" a few times.

Ren shared screen shots of the original contract. The girlfriend inserted herself into the situation all by her girl boss self.

The girlfriend exchanged messages with ren acting nice apart from a "joke" threat to break rens kneecaps. In his vid ren says he finished that conversation and thought it was all good and making progress. Then he saw a reddit post from her with a fake contract saying ren was lying and also sending his fans after kujo. That is why he pulled her into the track. I also saw a short/reel (can't remember exactly) where he explained he used the word slut not so much as an attack on her but because it was the one thing that he thought would really get under kujos skin

Great reaction. I agree that there are the three sides, however, here's how I see it. Ren made a 30+ minute video explaining his side, complete with receipts. He invited kujobeats and girlfriend to come forward with their side. Total silence from kujobeats side. His silence moves truth towards Ren's version. Lawyers have been involved. I think the real reason this issue isn't completely resolved yet is that Ren isn't out to destroy kujobeats... because he could at this point. As for the video itself. As an artist and a fan I love it. The intensity of it is cathartic, and it's visually beautiful. And really, if you think about it, all Ren does is make them sit down, shut up and listen. I haven't watched it without the sound, but I think the instrumentals really heighten the horror movie feel of it

Personally I think that the origination of the problem is with the Bulgarian choir( BC) which Kujo sampled WITHOUT CLEARING IT in the beat which he sold and which Ren bought. Sick Boi blew up and I think that the BC took notice that the song included a sample from them and they went after Ren. Because Ren bought the beat with unlimited use etc he probably replied with all the relevant information regarding the beat that he purchased, which showed that it was purchased / sold by Kujo Beats. ** It should be noted that this situation BEGAN playing out unbeknownst to Ren - likely because his team didn’t was to impact RENs physical health while he was undergoing intensive treatment in Canada. When they did bring Ren into the loop he tried to give Kujo the benefit of the doubt and he tried to work out a fair and equitable solution. At this point lawyers are in involved to everything because exponentially more complicated ( because that’s how they work) . Why wouldn’t Kujo negotiate? Why was he demanding such an exaggerated amount of money? I don’t know ,but perhaps because he was the one who sampled the BC in the beat with HIS name on it they were demanding revenue from everything that was made as a result ( Sick Boi), hence Kujo was trying to put the fiduciary responsibility FOR HIS F*UP onto Ren.

KZbin doesn’t do anything almost ever. They haven’t even acknowledged the fact that bot accounts are spreading cp on their own website. Honestly, I was most surprised to hear Ren has been in contact with KZbin music in general but I honestly doubt that’ll matter much, unfortunately. I'm really glad Ren included the girlfriend. It's actually annoying when people think that a woman shouldn't be held to the same standard as a man - especially in a fantasy. The whole video is obviously Ren giving voice to the internal voice that wishes he could say/do x, y, z after feeling slighted. We all have moments when we wish we could've said this or that, but as an artist, Ren actually got to show it. I read a lot of urban fantasy with kick @ss female leads, and they take punches, too. Kujo's GF posted a false contract excerpt online, so she put herself into this. She deserves the knocks just as Kujo does (in this fantasy). It's actually kind of offensive to imply that a woman have more protection than a man. Great video. So glad you watched it. Did you catch that Ren directed it? I also thought that having an original choir looking over their shoulders was brilliant. And then killing the choir when he says "LEGALLY"... 😂😂😂

It's not only about greed, it's about Kujo Beat's fraudulent copyright strike. (Which KZbin acknowledged when they reinstated Sick Boi) Ren's only threat was 'part 2'. Which is legal action if they continue to defame him.

If you watch the video he released with the background before he release Kujo Beatdown. It has all the email and comment receipts. You are correct that had Kujo's girlfriend had stayed silent, Ren wouldn't have been here. Sadly, she went farther than Kujo, including making up contract details and threatening to break Ren's kneecaps. At this time, Kujo has maintained radio silence. Hopefully, that will remain the case until/unless it goes to court. We don't need a pt 2. Hopefully, Kujo has learned to keep everything above board going forward. As with everything Ren does, there are lessons to learn, and he's an incredible teacher.

All from Ren's mouth? He literally put all their correspondence on his video for you to read but seems you didn't pause to read it all. So it seems you may not have read everything he put up, but it was very clear. The girlfriend literally falsified the BeatStar contract and put it up online. It was a complete fabrication twisting the contract to say that it is the purchaser of the beats' responsibility to check if the samples were legal obtained. Plus the publisher was the one who owed any $ to KujoBeats not Ren, but the Bulgarian choir went after KujoBeats for not licensing their sample and he went after Ren because he didn't want to take the hit he rightfully should have. Ren gave him an opportunity to collaborate. He chose not to, so too bad for him. But if you still need the other side go back and read all the correspondence Ren put up transparently.

Watch Rens video explaining the situation showing all the back and forths (not his imagination all posted comments) its crystal clear. Ren even offered to make a track with him so he would get more money and positive views from the renegades but Kujo refused. The girlfriend posted fake contracts on line . You tube has agreed its an invalid strike and has put Sic Boi back up.

Kujo was in the wrong when he sold the beat to Ren, with a part from the Bulgarian Choir, that he had no legal right to { Ie: effectively; stole } . Ren bought it free & clear { ie: with an unlimited international licence} so he could do what he wanted with it. He built Sick Boi with it, which was his personal story of the trauma he went through - still going through - when his life-threatening Lyme Disease went undiagnosed & untreated for many years. Sick Boi went on to become a huge hit and then the flagship song on his first album of the same name. The Sick Boi Album then reached No.1 on the UK Charts, which was an unprecedented achievement for an Indie { unsigned } artist, with a self produced album! Meanwhile, the Choir, then goes; Hang on! Isn't that our bit?! And goes after Kujo, who tries to flick the responsibility onto Ren.Not Ren's problem. Kujo, now seeing Ren's success with Sick Boi, wants a piece of the pie. At one point, he demands the Whole Pie! He gets a lawyer involved to try to pressure { bully / extort? ) Ren into giving him $. This shonky stuff happens quite a lot. It's very unlikely they ever intended to follow this completely baseless claim all the way through to the courts - where, given Kujo caused the problem - very unlikely they would win, but often that's not the 'game'. The game is to put enough pressure on the artist, that eventually they buckle and just give them some 'bugger off' $'s! just to get the claimant off their back, {which Ren almost did ) It's also very unlikely they'd have played this game, nor pushed it as far as they did, if Ren had been a signed artist with a big label - protected by teams of corporate lawyers. But he was an Indie, seen by some as 'fair game'. \ Kujo & Co. then threatened to trigger a copyright strike against Sick Boi if they didn't get what they wanted. When they didn't- that's what Kujo did, and then demanded more $! So now are in hot water, not only with Ren's Legal advisers, but also with KZbin, who also got involved when this 'sh-te hit the fan' , who determined this was likely an illegal strike, reversed it, and put Sick Boi back up ( pending more legal advice ). Meanwhile... Why Kujo's girlfriend? Well she jumped in communicating with Ren, talking a lot of garbage, and even { in writing - in an email! } threatened to 'kneecap' Ren! { Last I heard threatening bodily harm, is against the law }. Then she did a little 'creative editing' of the original licencing contract for the beat. { I believe that's called document tampering & forgery! } Clearly these people aren't the brightest sparks in the fire. So, yeah... Ren got mad! Fair enough! { # I hear, Ren also, being Ren , has since made some royalty type arrangement with the Bulgarian Choir, which he was under no obligation to do, but thought it fair. }
