Producer Reacts | REN - Violet's Tale and Kujo Beat Down is imMERCYve

Hello Renegades and lovely people! I am familiar with the Kujo and Ren situation, however, I didn’t summarise it in the video, and for that please accept my apologies. I touched on it in my previous Ren video. For those unfamiliar: Ren bought the unlimited licence for a beat produced by Kujo Beats on Beatstars for his track Sick Boi. After Ren released his album Sick Boi and topped the UK charts, returning from his treatment of Lyme disease Ren noticed that his song Sick Boi got a copyright strike and was taken down from KZbin. It turns out Kujo Beats sold a beat with a stolen sample, and the original authors were coming after him. Also, Kujo Beats demanded 50% of the revenue of the master. In short, they couldn’t agree and it became quite nasty as Kujo and his girlfriend tried to spread lies about Ren online to discredit him, while holding back Sick Boi as leverage. In the end, Ren took down Sick Boi himself and announced a re-release on the anniversary of the OG track, produced entirely by himself. Thanks for watching, and reading, I’m glad you’re here! Peace

Interesting. I always thought he was foreshadowing the twins' birth and how disoriented Violet would have been at the time. Perhaps the mistake inspired the acting? Regardless, it works brilliantly. ❤

@@petramakesmusic675 Same as the squawking of seagulls when he pauses outside near the end of 'Violets Tale'. The video was shot in a friend's apt. building. The hospital bed was set up in the bike room, they had to drag a bike rake with bikes out of the way. Prior to Money Game 3, Ren had never spent more than a 1000 pounds on a video. Incredible what he and in most cases Sam accomplish.There is an interview with Sam on Joe E Sparks YT channel if you're interested.

I also listened to Violet's Tale as a standalone song first without knowing about the trilogy. I wished I would have listened to them in order and the end of Violet's tale wasn't the surprise it would have been.

Adhd is both a super power and a curse. I have ADHD and am also chronically ill. Just to piggy back off that you said. He had the time to work on craft. He did and probably did hyper focus on it during periods where his illness allowed for it. There are times for me my pain brain takes over and even casual speech is difficult. You can't think straight to get the correct words out. I've been hyper focusing on listening to music but I can't articulate my thoughts enough to write like I am now at times.

I have seen it many, many times, and know the story word for word, but still expect her to be jumping from the stairwell as I did the first time I watched. Don't worry about making us happy ,we have heard it through and understand the story . If anyone has stressed the importance of listening to all 3 songs at one time ,it is in the hope that you will actually understand the story , but nevermind maybe you can listen to them through off air sometime . These 3 songs haven't been written to in any way ,glamerise D.V. but to highlight the horror of Generational Trauma which is why their 3 stories are so intricately woven together . You cannot understand Jennys tale as it is told silently through hearing the Tales of her Mother and Brother .

I've subbed, for Ren. As you are a producer , i think you'd be intersted in some of thd artists from previous years who gave inspired Ren. His covers of songs are phenomenal. From Bob and Ziggy Marlowe, to The Police and Sting, to Nina Simone and Vera Hall, they all have a lot of lessons for young producers. That list should be a lot longer, i didn't want to take up too much space in the comments. 😊

Thanks for this Petra. Just some warnings for future Ren videos to set you on the right track (following your initial faux pas!). 1. Listen to the Renegades. They will point you in the right direction as to what song to hear in what order etc.... 2. Never end a Ren video early (as you did here and missed his disclaimer). Sometimes Ren hides wee Easter egg gems at the end of his videos, so you need to watch them all to the very end, just in case. 3. My suggestion is to always watch an official video before the acoustic. Often the acoustic will be even better, but you need to see how Ren interprets the song visually first. It is like eating your main meal before the pudding (dessert). Ren loves collaborating with other artists. His most popular are with Chinchilla and Sam Tompkins as well as a band he was in in Brighton called The Big Push. They mainly busked, but have some cracking original songs as well as covers. My suggestion would be for you to watch Hi Ren next; then do the Money Game Trilogy. The order is not imperative as it was for The Tales, but best to do them in order anyway. Do the lyric video for Money Game 2. Enjoy.

You didn't even say if you knew why Ren released Kujo Beat Down. Are you familiar with what happened to Ren for him to make a song like this? You should have done a little research to inform yourself and your audience. Kujo the producer who created a beat that Ren bought and created the song Sick Boi before Ren went viral and got his #1 UK album. Now that song Sick Boi has been taken down from every streaming platform because of this shady, greedy producer. It's a long complicated story which is best explained by Ren himself. Go to Ren's channel and watch the 35min video where Ren explains the entire situation why Sick Boi has been taken down. 'As a producer yourself you should be interested in bad music industry practices. It would be nice to hear your take on this as well. Next time instead of just guessing on what to watch from Ren's catalogue of music maybe ask his fan base for a suggestion because I skipped you section of Violets Tale because I refuse to watch reactors or anyone watch only part of the trilogy.✌✌

@@petramakesmusic675 If you are enjoying the process, it will show. I watch channels which do everything "wrong" and often it is the best part of the experience. I am subscribed to one channel, which combines videos on scam baiting and walking around the forest collecting berries. Every "KZbin professional" will tell you that this is wrong and you should find your niche and stay there, but it is such a breath of fresh air to sees something different. Remember, you will never please everybody. Be well.
