This one is indeed one cut. They had to go back 3 days in a row because they didn’t have it. He said on an interview that this was over 180+ takes. The videographer is the same one that did Hi Ren, the Tales of Jenny and Screech, Money Game 3, Illest of our time, and countless other live performances. His name is Samuel Perry-Falvey. He’s also incredible. Ren is Welsh. He usually puts the lyrics in a comment under the video 🤘🏼

I think this was their first one-take. And Money Game 3 shows the evolution brilliantly. That is a one shot two-take video. They needed one cut in the later one. Both audios are performed live and then remastered for levels in an obsessed Hyperfocus afterwards.

The UK originally was colonized or taken over by the Vikings first, Nordic people from Scandinavia. Before it was the UK - Then the Vikings went on to try to colonize Ireland, Normandy, Iceland, Greenland and Denmark. They were adventures and explorers yet violent people, they were called pagans. The Vikings were actually the first to find north American continent by landing in the Canada area first. Before Columbus. Around the 800'sThere was a 6 part series on the discovery channel of the rise and fall of the Vikings. Truly amazing. It got my attention because my ancestors are from Denmark from many many many years ago. This is a mini description, I might not have remembered every detail accurately but pretty close to some parts of it.

Yep, one shot, live. Took them 180 or 190 something takes before they got the one they wanted 😊 and the gas was a mixture of olive oil and vegetable oil to resemble the consistency of petrol 💜💜

Yep, live all in 1 take. It took lots of attempts but they got it done. I love the lyric "but when did freedom of speech justify a racist slur or insult we make?" He's a musical genius, a generational talent that, as you say, it's theatre. Proper story teller but a superb guitarist and pianist to boot. I would love to see him live one day!

Great response to this video, thanks for that! As I remember, you had a rough start with Ren and yet you decided to take a second look, I respect that a lot! Money Game 2 is a lyric video, but - as always with Ren, very worth watching, his lyric videos are unique! There is a short live version of this, but it's only half the song. Money Game Part 3 is another music video, this time in 2 takes (you'll see why at the end - if you decide to watch it). If you choose more songs by Ren, you will understand why so many people of different ages, different countries, different backgrounds respect this artist so much (and this has nothing to do with his illness, it's just about the music) ! Here's my take; along with factual statements made by Ren & others, on the messaging & performative aspects of Money Game Parts 1 & 2. Part 1: is in the similar format of Ren's Tale of Jenny & Screen trilogy & Hi Ren, which can be considered live performance pieces that are shot in 1 take.🤯 Ren has commented that this was his first attempt at this style of one take video production & it took them over 140 takes to get this shot right with all the choreography & music involved to flow seamlessly. In essence, Ren is introducing everyone to all the hypocrisy in the west & the seeds that have been sown around the world that created this money game & how we all live blind to it with a metaphorical money bag tied around our heads. 💰🤑💰Ren portrays the character of Judge, jury & executioner for those who are blinded by the money game & the corruption that steams from all the greed of all the people who are involved in it. He even draws eyes on the bagman to help him see his errors & society's. When Ren attempts to carry out the "Guilty" death sentence, the bagman's eyes reflect back to Ren his own complacency in this MG (Hold the mirror to ourselves, we're all part of this old money game). The end carries a double meaning, 1) like a Buddhist Monk he burns himself in effigy as protest & 2) This act of burning represents how we are all, as a society, just dooming ourselves in the end. Like Ren's lyrics conveys (As the world turns, the whole world burns). BTW when you do MG2 you need to do the Lyric Video. The live version is not the complete song, it was a test run during its development & was just an A-Capella posting on IG for feedback. Part 2: is a studio recording with Ren & his videographer Samuel Perry-Falvey creating an artistic lyric video to assist in the messaging/storytelling. Pt.2 shows the money game through the narrower lens of corporate greed & government corruption & its effects on our present day society.🔥🔥I won't get to descriptive here, but it's much less abstract in its presentation & easier to absorb & decipher as an audience member. Can't wait to see your reaction to pt.2 &'3.Cheers 🍻

Facts... IMO never use on screen lyrics for Ren videos (except his own official ones of course) and especially KZbin CC . Not only are they wrong but often you see words before they are voiced which utterly destroys the tension/anticipation/timing/impact, etc...

No cuts in this at all, and, yes, it is all live. They had to try it for 6 days and nights, though, and it took incredible 186 takes to finally get it (says filmographer Samuel Perry-Falvey) and lots of disheartening forced breaks because of adverse stormy weather. Yes, Ren is Welsh, used to live in Brighton, England until end-of-2022. Then in treatment in Canada for all of 2023 and plans to stay until April. Then, who knows, but will probably return to Brighton, that's what he'd like to do.

Oh, man. The auto lyrics are INCREDIBLY off. The only one that I would recommend with auto-subs so far is The Tale of Jenny and Screech. They started off horrible, but somehow got better over time. Now there are only a couple of errors, which while remove the best version of the lyrics, are serviceable. I have to say that I only just discovered your channel and kind of love that you do it on livestream and I can see your followers react because it's fun to see the "ho-hum"-ers who won't even give it a chance, those who actually give it a chance but decide it's not for them (if they would continue to watch even though they don't THINK they will like it, Ren has so many different styles that you will stumble on something that you love), and those that slowly "get it." And I really like that you don't kowtow to your audience. I will be watching you more often after the last couple. I like your genuine "give a shit."
