V’s dry humour is totally depicted to the max in this mv, he did say it’s a witty song about the and of friendship and the beginning of something else. This mv really has the sense of humour V has, dry, sarcastic with dark undertones and the smirk at the end is so Tae, his ‘gotchya’ face. Lol. Loved it. But for me the best takeaway was the song, the vocal gymnastics and the sound choir at the end. I can’t wait to see this performed live especially with the soul choir that backed him in the song. It will be such a great live.

Just watched this 2week old reaction on my TV then decided to get on my phone to comment. I always love your reactions because of you perspective and attention to detail. I actually feel gaslighted when other people don’t notice the stuff I do! ☺️ First off, I absolutely love this song. It defines V as a musical artist in style, class and swagger. Secondly, my take on this video is from my own experience and how I got stuck in my thoughts trying to figure out what happened after a break up. It’s not 💯 aligned with the lyrics, or is it… This is the aftermath of her saying “let’s be friends.” The 1st time seeing him wake up is him trying to put himself in her shoes as she described to him and reason she just wants to be friends. Maybe she felt alone and ignored or that he wasn’t there for her. She perceived every other couple was happy. The 2 time he wakes up it’s him thinking back to how he saw the realationship. He thought they were happy & in love. Felt he showered her with love and affection. Then no matter how he looked at the relationship he still felt like he wanted to when it ended. The 3rd time is him just saying fuck it- I am gonna live my life and the only truth is I am all I can count on and I love myself!! You know the saying “ there are three sides to every story. Hers, his and the truth.”? That kinda sums it up to me. So, there you have it form a 54 yr old who’s roommate it her husband in Missouri. Became a K-pop fan a little over a year ago after I heard a song in an anime that was watching with my 30 yr old son. (It’s always been OUR thing❣️) Searched online to find the song. Found it, fell in love and never looked back!! With admiration, Kit

To me - I see that underlying “Love Yourself” theme. Like you can’t be truly happy and be that perfect friend, lover, etc. if you don’t love yourself first. So “Yeah” Mr. V - this is a great song for him, suits his style (quirky) and his voice. May I point out what I consider good acting? In the scene right before V gets run over for the 2nd time, the camera focuses on his face and in those 2 seconds, his face changes from smiling to "oh sh*t!" No dialog, just his face, very subtle, very effective. And in that last scene with 2 Vs, many interpret that as love yourself. I personally think V just added that as a tease when our brains have all turned into scrambled eggs and he smirks to say "Gotcha!" In true sassy V kinda way, of course.

Someone asked me why do i watch so many reactions to the same videos. If you are curious about behind the story it is about self love. At first he is single. So he seeing all the couples and anything around him. So he become sad seeing he is the only one who is single. And he get into accident but no one cares about him because he is living alone. In next scene you see he having a girlfriend and then the scenes are same like before but only difference is he is happy with his girlfriend and others are fighting. This means when your are in love you didn't care about what happening around you. In this scene also he is dying but if you look close he is smiling while dying. And his girlfriend is near him crying and asking for a help. But still no one cares. Then you see same morning scene but this time two Vs there. This symbolize you and yourself. So in whole music video he trying to give idea about love yourself first asking for a lover.

Okay, so after watching the MV more than 20 times, I think there are 2 meanings behind the MV. 1. Love Yourself, Choose Yourself - Everything in the world ends at some point, be it relationship or friendship. But the connection that you have with yourself lasts forever. In the first part, Tae was sad but everyone around him was happy and then in the next he was happy and everyone else was sad. Only by loving yourself can you be truly happy and see the world around you happy as well. 💜🥰 2. Embrace Life, Death is Inevitable In the first part, when Tae dies, his facial expression is sad/neutral but in the 2nd part, he has a smile on his face. I think the meaning behind it is, take chances, achieve your goals, death is inevitable so you might as well take risks and do things that you really want to do so that when you die, you die knowing that you had a good life and made tons of great memories. 😁✌️ Borahae 💜

Heyyy !! Firstly wanna say I enjoyed reaction by far the most attentive and honest reaction i have seen. Thank you for that . And according to me if we know “V “ and knowing bts the meaning of this video which i got is that not getting influenced by your surroundings in life there are times in life when we feel lonely , alone ,sad etc we only see others happy in love everything so we started something by getting influenced by others but may be that’s not right for us what is right for other people as we can see in second part when “V “ is in a relationship everyone around him are now different not the same it’s different and that’s why we see him getting annoyed by waitresses. And in both cases he die same and before dying again we saw his expressions and which is telling wth is this happening again and dying with smile like nothing gonna change . At the end we saw him ending up with himself in bed , and saying why so that concludes now you got it you have to chose yourself instead of getting influenced do what is best for you, do things which truly makes you happy. Always put yourself first instead of thinking about surroundings . Only than you are going to have different ending that is what i get.

Great analysis from you - my take on the plant is that when he was alone we saw a solitary plant; with his girl, we see two plants in one pot and the one in front has a colourful flower representing the girl.

The song is definitely an 'ear worm'. I watched it the moment it dropped, and it was playing in my head all day the next day at work. *LOL* As for the video, I'm not a director, and I usually watch the videos for my enjoyment alone. (Not usually slowing it down and breaking it apart.) But we know that BTS loves subtleties. (Or their directors do.) They tend to pack a whole lot of meaning into one small video, which is likely why they call them mini movies. One video can tell an entire story, or more than one, in this case. There is a lot of compare and contrast in this one, and V did mention that it was quite philosophical. So, with the fire.. did you also note that, in the 1st scene, with the chef: even with someone nibbling on his ear, he had that fire under control, and the back area was relatively calm, but in the 2nd scene, where they're fighting, he's barely holding onto that flaming pan, and it's all chaos. The chef is no longer in control of that fire. Amazing what differences you can pack into the same setting with a little mood lighting, too, right? V's smirk at the end could set the coldest heart a-flutter.

Great Reaction! 🥰 I totally agree with you. I too think there are some hidden meanings. I have come up with two scenarios, but one is a little more controversy so I will just put one down. When you are friends or even in a relationship and it is not moving towards a real relationship or commitment you feel like you are in a never ending loop or vicious cycle. I think in this journey of life the majority of us don't get to the love ourselves and acceptance stage without going through the first 2 stages. The first stage is the lonely stage where it feels like everyone around you has a significant other and you are left alone in your feelings. The second stage is that you have someone and you are so happy that you are oblivious to the chaos around you. I have heard married couples say that it is like the Honeymoon phase where everything your significant other does is cute and you don't see the flaws or you dismiss the flaws.
