Thank you to all the positive commenters!!! Others; in the Orignal description I say this is not a proper reupholster job but a fast make over. I personally like burlap and have used it before in my Catskills home. These videos designed are to inspire. Please enjoy. Xo.

You can make one out of burlap for practice or "As Is". For practice, you achieve success first before buying the expensive upholstery material. For "As Is" for your home, it is good for you and forces pesky snoots to make lame excuses to shorten their visits so you can get back to making things without bother.

Jimmy, you may count me as one of the inspired. I have passed over more than one piece of used furniture for not being able to see the big picture of how to begin and where to go with it. Thank you for all your time you share.

i really don't think that the potato sack fabric was the right choice. also, covering the original fabric with other fabric can barely be called "reupholstering"

I enjoy watching Jimmy work. The fast forward time laps and the fact that he lets his work talk rather than him doing it is awesome. The guy is without a doubt skilled. However he rarely makes anything I would actually want. A love seat reupholstered in burlap?? Who would want to sit on scratchy old burlap? Same with other projects, a book gun case, a star key, a table with random lighters glued on the top? His videos are entertaining though, I’ll give him that.

Ariel Barton if you have a good air compressor, then it costs pretty much nothing. The nails are also a hell of a lot cheaper when you buy them in bulk. I guess if your using it all the time then its a good investment
@n8guy
@n8guy 10 жыл бұрын
Ariel Barton Air nailers are nearly indispensable for rapidly building almost anything. And they are inexpensive to operate as well. Where are you thinking the expense comes from (that is, once you own the compressor and nailer, whose costs quickly amortize).

Burlap is a horrible fabric, it's like the underwear of the furniture world, scratchy, dirty and smells like a horse stall and some people think it's great to do a drape with or a chair and it's just not. It collects dirt and lets the dust mites come right through from the old fabric, it's like wearing underwear over your dirty jeans and t shirt hoping no one will notice.
