Ty. Sad thing is u said urs was claped out lol mine on my yz 250 won't stay pushed in and I jumped it and fractured my tibula on my right leg bc it stuck out and when I landed it just felt like it shaderd my leg. Give me some time to fix this problem while my leg heals lmao

So I'm not sure what a clapped out kickstart sounds like, but when I start my bike the few seconds from when it starts to when I remove my foot from the kickstarter I hear like a metallic clicking noise as if something was spinning and slipping. The moment I let go of the kickstarter the noise stops. Is that what this video addresses?

Hi mate, just wanted to know if you have any idea why I get a whirring sound when kickstarting my bike? My kids were messing around in the garage and were jumping on the Kickstarter. Kinda sounds like those wind back cars. Still kicks over but not a smooth kick. Cheers

Is it only when the kick start is down, or while you are kicking before it starts? Pull the right engine cover and check the engagement of the ratcheting mechanism on the back of the kick start gear. Sounds like it might not be fully engaged if it's while you are kicking. -Charles

@@niketuned4011 Keep in mind the gear on the shaft should freewheel until you use the kick start lever. With the cover off I would put the kick starter back on the shaft and check the engagement of the ratcheting mechanism on the back while you push it down, then pull everything off and check the springs and for any bent or broken parts . So everything is driven off the crank. Kickstarter is a series of gears that go off the crank, clutch, etc. If your kickstarter gear is above or below all those other gears it might not work.
