Excellent! Skid steer repairs are my favourite vids! Enjoyed watching the exploratory surgery on the bobcat. Like other commentators, I'm really looking forward to the next parts. Thanks for filming.

Thats a handy lift you have there and spot in the shade to work. The Bobcat looks alright, with a rebuild on the engine should be good for a few years yet. I have an old 1970's Bobcat Skidsteer with a Deutz Diesel air cooled engine which has been worked hard, it still lifts and drives ok. Slow but sure. needs a couple of Tyres, and a lad asked me yesterday if I would sell it.

Great video. Definitely hydro locked for that damage but dodged a bullet with such little damage. I'm with you new rod and piston and slap her back together.
@IcecalGamer7 күн бұрын
After you've cleaned it up, could you check the bottom, just in case? In case some of the rod actually did hit it and maaaby dented/cracked/chipped/abraded somewhere. idk, I'm just asking.

Definitely, it will need a good inspection before it gets put back together.

kubota engines are pretty simple to work on and be back to life the 23hp kubota engines here in canada are around $1,799 at my kubota dealer wich isnt bad

That is one too many starts with ether, but in one sense it's actually good because the explosion kept the damn thing from starting,and actually knocking a hole in the block. Someone has been using ether to start it all the time which is what burnt the exhaust up and of course there is either soot all over the damn thing. Sadly this time someone sprayed way too much either into the block allowing it all to accumulate in that one cylinder causing it to explode the minute the key was turned on probably no grounds on the motor whatsoever,as its had too many hands on it. Instead of replacing the high-volume fuel pump mechanics or mechanic wannabes really used the return fuel line for vacuum clamping it off causing the fuel to gather in the ejector pump which more often than not will keep them from starting however it does prolong the life of a fuel pump occasionally but unknowing operators use ether to start the damn thing because there is no pressure in the fuel pump for start which is why no one should ever clamp off any return line and no one should never spray either into a diesel I use gasoline rags myself and people saying that's not possible but I do it all the time a gas rag in the filter canister is much better than anything,and by far safer.

that rod snapped off because of over fueling. the injector likely overloaded the cylinder. you'll need a complete rebuild. get the three pistons, rings, and bearings. also, get the head, pump, and injectors rebuilt. don't go cheap or you'll be rebuilding it again soon.

The bobtach will leak down over time (2 years in the case). All the weight is in the back of this machine plus has flat tyres so it just looks like it's lifting it
