I picked up this fridge a couple weeks ago and paired it with an EB70S. I ran it on MAX the entire trip. It effectively cooled down room tem bevvies (24 pack) in about 3 to 5 hours and never got above 46 watts while running. Great fridge thus far. I ran it for 2 days ights of camping and it hardly dented the Bluetti's battery compliment. Time will tell on its build quality, but so far I'm quite impressed. The current model also has a drain plug making defrosting much easier too.

Otherwise cold falls. Love the details and how complete review is. I suspect that when full of already cold items it will maintain temp right away. His time test is the max empty volme . Like any freezer the less space to maintain the least energy used. Like the unit for the price and thanks

When I use a 12v fridge like the ICECO GO20, I do not waste battery power getting it down to the temperature I want. I plug it into the wall the night before the trip and the next day I simply load it up and head out. When driving, I again do not waste battery - I power it off the car and then use a Jackery or Ecoflow when at a campground or Cracker Barrel if there is no shore power.
@charlesmoman4 жыл бұрын
Timothy Mckee On a road trip with a lot of driving hours, I might stop and eat dinner and then sleep overnight in the parking lot. Cracker Barrel allows folks with an RV or camping trailer like my Runaway Camper to stay overnight. Better and safer than a Walmart.
@charlesmoman4 жыл бұрын
@Timothy Mckee Most Cabelas are ok with it too. More and more Walmarts are not allowing because of some bad actors out there. Some use Pilot and other truck stops, but they are too noisy. Highway rest areas are not always safe - people come up and beg for gas money and then there is the occasional serial killer! : )
@charlesmoman4 жыл бұрын
@Timothy Mckee I am quite sure that would not work. Maybe at a hospital if you had a family member being treated but you would need to ask permission and where best to park. When we drive to Colorado from Indiana we use the rest areas in Kansas on I70. Most have a loop of to the side specifically for RVs and campers to park for the night. We use them on every trip out there. btw - I do videos about my Runaway camper, some product reviews like Ecoflow (my favorite lithium), ICECO and a few others. Starting a 4-6 month Ford Transit van conversion series on my channel next month.
@charlesmoman4 жыл бұрын
@Timothy Mckee That seems to be the $1 million question I am getting. We are keeping the Runaway and will use it as an always-set-up comfy bedroom. We are taking out the cushions we had made - they will go on the sofas in the Transit - and getting a queen for the Runaway. The vast majority of trips we will be towing the Runaway, but now and then and if I did a solo filming trip out West then I would just take the Transit. Filming my announcement video later this week about the van-build series and episode #1 the next week.

Another very well done review. I would challenge the method for acoustic measurement however. There is acoustic coupling from reflections off of the table and acoustic vibrations through the table. This could result in low frequency vibration through the table affecting your results. It would be best to have the phone on a stand or suspended. The weighting used for measuring could affect results also. C weighting reacts more to low frequencies while A weighting rolls off the low frequencies. But if anything the results would be better with an alternate setup. Keep up the good work.

Ever try to dig down through a deep chest freezer for the container you want, that ALWAYS seems to be at the bottom… the removable basket let’s you first SEE what you want, and if you do have to dig for something, you can close the lid on the freezer to retain the inside temp (and save power), until you dig out the container you want, then replace the basket. think that is a very thought out idea, and for the part time user, the price point is a great way to start

This is smaller than I want, but jeeze…this thing is a fraction of the cost of an Iceco 7? or other. I could get two of these and still have change. Hmmmmm 🧐. Excellent and detailed as hell review as usual. I like details. Anything nowadays is a lot of money to put out. Thank you for the review 😁👍

Thanks for the review. Very informative. Do you have any opinion on the ruggedness of this unit? Do you think it would hold up to being in the back of a 4x4 trail riding? TIA.

It is designed for off roading according to BougeRV. I would certainly strap it down good.

@@HOBOTECH Awesome, thank you for the reply. I was hoping it would handle it. Especially since it is good for 30 degrees off camber.

Do you have any idea when they will have the cover back in stock. Also my lid is not loose either and worked well last weekend

Since this does not come with an AC adapter or cord to run directly on household current, is there an AC-to-DC adapter you could recommend should one want to use this as an auxiliary unit in their house? I don't think I found a suggestion on your Amazon page. Thanks.

I show in the video it comes with an AC power cord.

@@HOBOTECH My bad. In unpacking my unit I put the AC adapter aside and lost track of it. I received one. But they did give me four left-side handle seats instead of two left-side and two right-side. So we will see how good customer support is. :-) Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Professor Hobo, can you test this refrig again with the protective insulating bag on it like you did with the iceco refrig? Thanks
@HOBOTECH4 жыл бұрын
They did send me the cover after the fact so I'll consider it. It is just a lot of prep for that one test.

@@HOBOTECH thank you for the reply,. I just received mine I bought and the cover. I have to let sit for a day because it was laid on its side in the Amazon delivery car. You helped me make the decision with your review

Are you thinking of a traditional fridge for your home that will run on some type of off grid power system. In case of power outages? I'd appreciate seeing what you think would be good, please?
@HOBOTECH4 жыл бұрын
We're on the grid right now. We'll be considering off grid options next year.

Look at the power adapter. does it say 100-240 volts? Most of the power adapter with in the last 10 years will operate between these voltages such as cell phones and other high end electronics.

Any upcoming videos for a smaller 12 volt compressor fridge? I have a 2010 transit connect, so I need something around 30 some quarts. Thanks

I have an ICECO JP40 coming. They make different sizes of it. You don't have to wait for my review I already posted a discount for it.

The 20% off 53QTCOVER code on Amazon does not appear to be working. Anyone else having that issue? Thanks for posting great videos Professor!

Tom, there's no description box with all your Amazon links.

@@HOBOTECH When I watched this the first time, there was no description box available. I see it now, though. Weird...I hope youtube isn't messing with those things, too. Maybe my browser was being weird. 🤷♀️

KZbin's been S L O W getting it's processing and background work done on the servers for the past three months. Stuff that is normally processed and rendered is taking 300-500% longer due to everyone being at home hammering the hell out of Google's server farm.
