Great video demo as always.

I got a bit impressed by Elmo being such a man of character. No review because he believes the gift of this gadget will bias him. However, he sure did give Sonicake a good demo. Good video for a rainy Monday morning.

On demoing the Matribox II, "There's instantly a kind of bias..." You're the only youtuber out of all the gear reviewers I've watched for years who admits this.

Elmo, you are an absolute dude, and as others have said your morals and outlook stand out in the maelstrom of GearTubes. I really respect your buy it, play it, review it, sell it or keep it outlook, which clearly comes naturally. I subbed from the first video I watched and..i'm really a drummer, I play guitar when I get drum overload. :)

look like hours of testing fun with that little box , thanks for the review , there are so many new effects gizmos now on the market that it's easy to be overwhelm by the differences and similarities . have a great day , can't wait for the next review

Sounds great and I'm sure you could get it even better with your own IR's. Honestly, all amp sims are sounding great these days, even the cheap ones.

What a lot of purists (and if you are one, that's fine! We need purists!) dont' seem to understand is that some of us just don't have a lot of physical room in our houses for a lot of gear. That's why modelers like these are so GREAT. They sound awesome and you don't have to struggle for room in your house for pedals. Believe me, my office is where I normally practice and it is CRAMPED. And thank you, professor, for showing us this particular one from Sonicake. (I love that company's name, by the way. Really cool.) This sounds like a good one even at twice the price since you can load your own IRs.

Hey Elmo! Loved the vid sounds pretty decent. You should check out the NUX mighty 8bt mkii, it came out recently and is similar to the roland micro cube, was kinda thinking about a purchase, Cheers!

Very cool Elmo. Your playing still amazes me man it's so good. ❤ Must be the Viking in ya brother. 😂.. Hope all is well man. I'm still recovering from a fall from a ladder that broke my tibia ( the big bone in the lower half of your leg. ) Walking now, but with a cane and it's annoying as hell. I just built a custom strat I started on before the accident and finally finished yesterday and probably noodled and practiced for 3 hours. Didn't realize that much time had went by. 😂 That sounds good to me for a bit huge amount of money. These modelers are getting better and better man. I'm just old and like things simple. 😂 My friend just loaned me a really old Peavey Amp. Called the VT Artist series 120 watts 1 x 15 speaker in a combo with 4 6l6 tubes in the power amp and solid state in the preamp . Very strange. I am going to try it today. Very odd amp. Be well sir and I dig that guitar. I really need to try the stacked Yngwie pickups. Later my friend and be well and safe and have a great week brother. ❤

@@MrPolevaulter Thank you my friend. Accidents happen. They just suck at the tender age of 62. 😂. I used to be young and handsome. Now I'm just handsome. ,😂🤣

@@daniellarson3068 Thank you kind sir. I don't know. I am just starting to play with it. Usually I use lately a Boss ME 70 going direct. I practice with it in headphones, but I am going to use it with this amp on the power amp loop only and use the Boss as the preamp. It should warm up the boss with those tubes is my thinking. It's a really old amp. Like 1981. It's in excellent almost perfect shape with a foot switch. Leg is healing, but I walk with a limp that sucks, but Ortho doc says it will be about a year to get back to normal since it was such a bad fracture and was the tibia. Thanks again for the kind words. Tim

Call that dirt cheap ? Now my Mooer GE100 at £75 was dirt cheap (as a pedal) but hugely expensive as a door stop lol. I still prefer just a straight valve amp with reverb for everything. Showing my age for sure but at my age spending time playing rather than messing with settings is important.

Would you compare this pedal to the very similar priced Harley Benton DNAfx Git Pro?

For the price people need to get over it and reviews mean next to nothing when you look at the price point which is less than many simple effects pedals. I have one and it has a few small flaws but for value for money it is right up there.

and I just got a little 5 watt tube amp that cost just a little more than that. designing the cabinet, I want enough volume for coupling with my strings, but then I need a loud monitor to hear previous tracks. where with the Sonicake, it would be just one monitor and mixer.... the monitor IS Also the guitar cabinet, in that case.

Interesting, Did you like it Elmo,?
@jimsimmons26745 ай бұрын
Elmo did you run the Matribox II into your audio interface and through studio monitors or into your amp or effects return in your amp?
@MrPolevaulter5 ай бұрын
Into the mixer, from there to the interface.

It didn't sound much different to me than various levels of distortion you can get from a decent overdrive/ dist pedal. The time based effects and reverb didn't sound like anything that hasn't been around for the last 30 years. Cabinet effects are arbitrary and depending on it's use in the mix can add some nice variation to the overall sound which can basically be tweaked by the time based effects and EQ with enough dialing in. I guess you can look at the overall build and take in account the convenience factors, the interface graphics that looked cheap but were still there to assist somewhat, the size is good, if not making it look a little fragile for stage use, you have several floor buttons to step on which is normally a good thing as long as they aren't too close together and the sweep pedal for wah and volume effects and parameter changing, are all things Digitech had down in the early/mid 2000s on their RP300 series and the like. I don't think this pedal is worth a penny over 149.00 US, and which it will probably be sold used for. To me this would be too high but in this market people will ask 200 US used which would be a ripoff unless you live in a country where more of these are on the market and someone simply can't afford the more useful yet higher priced models from manufacturers like Neural and Headrush that, to me, still aren't quite there yet as far as cleaner sounds. Think Fender Deluxe for example. I always appreciate your presentations and your playing, (I have been at it for a whopping 45 years and as someone like myself who shares the same passion for guitar and music as well as all the other untold numbers of players in the world, I have a feeling you too will no doubt be playing well until you are my age and beyond!) I don't see too many KZbinrs slinging scalloped fretted guitars and it is always a treat to see you shredding the hell out of that Strat type.

Important is Midi for Stage,or min 4 Sounds per Bank, like GP 200..this is too litle for me..
