Crenellations is what you were looking for! The castle nuts have crenellations to catch the cotter pin!

That nylon ring on the axle to align it with the inner splines is brilliant ! Hope the guy that came up with it ain't one of the Engineers that I've cursed soundly in the past for BAD ideas ! Give Clampy some love , one of my favorite 4x4's ever..........

Informative, interesting & "knuckling fun" also. The nuance of all the modifications & assembly, by a guy that smiles, laughs and tells stories - Fred could be on a fabrication talk show. Regardless, good luck with the assembly & have an enjoyable time with friends and others on your upcoming outdoor venture & ride.

As far as I know, the part of the castle that the castle nut emulates is called a parapet. I'm sure there will be some castle buff or keyboard warrior to correct me though. As one does.

I believe the diff cover has two fill plugs for different pinion types. High pinion uses the upper plug, low pinion uses the lower. I have Dana 44 covers from Dana and they have the same setup.

It was only knukle heads and knuckle dragging when I was young. I think aluminum strength is more about which alloy it is rather than plain aluminum. 2024 is not as strong as 7075. If the can make a metal smasher work on an industrial scale a meter square plate of 7075 that has gone through that process could withstand the weight of an aircraft carrier. Probably not happening on an industrial scale in my lifetime.

are the hole diameters for the Drag Link and Tie Rod on the Rock Jock Knuckles the same as the Stock Jeep Knuckles? I'm asking because Rock Jock website says the Knuckles are designed to be used with the Rock Jock CurrectLync system and may or may not be used by other, they have not tested it on any other manufacturers equipment. I don't know why it wouldn't work but asking to be sure before I order them.

Never back off a castle nut to get the cotter pin hole to line up! Always go slightly tighter if you have to so that you can insert the cotter pin. :)
@mrdanomac7937

The only time you loosen a castle nut to get a cotter pin lined up is for a wheel bearing. If you tighten a wheel bearing too much it won't last very long!

This Fist Bump or Knuckles was made popular by Howie Mandel on the breif case game show Deal Or No Deal because he was a germaphobe and wouldn't shake anyone's hands. Now it is awkward to shake someone's hand.

They are wearing magnifiers to see close up. Something that becomes necessary when getting old. Thing is they destroy distance sight. Having them as contacts would be less than ideal.
