Wow. Thanks. That steering deadzone in particular must have f'ed me over. Had the hardest time trying to heave my slides. Could not be done, and nevermind adjusting the course in long turns. I have been on input once before but didn't realize you had to actually click on the controller to come in to those settings. Here I am, 2 championships later! Thanks a bunch.

I wish there was a way to control the time between left and right...sometimes you just need a wheel... no matter what i do i cannot catch my drifts after i fly off a jump,no i end up just slamming the brakes and take the corner on the brake rather than power through it...because i cannot control how smooth a full lock left to a full lock right transition can be done but hey its a controller and it feels good as long as you play for fun.i even managed to get to a top 100 leader board but in argentina,rwd car bla bla bla...controllers are really cool for sharp tight and agressive low speed locations,on faster tracks its hard to play with them

I got the demo and found absolutely no way to adjust this.. found it absolutely awful compared to CM2004.. glad to see it can be adjusted because it felt like I was going to snap my joy stick on every turn.. wish they’d allow you to try all this out in the demo.. for now ill stick to the classics

Great explanation. I personally think DR 1 & 2.0 feels best at Steering Linearity 0. It will be tricky to drive with 0 at first, but in the long run, it should make you faster/more precise. Adjust Steering Sens instead if you're too twitchy. Steering Sens should be around 75-90 depending on your car. Deadzone 0-10. Saturation 100. That works for me at least, not saying it's the best for everyone.

Steering linearity works the opposite of what you said. 100 = movement of analog stick is tied directly to wheel (or 1 to 1 if you will). While 0 = small movement of analog stick will turn the steering wheel a lot at first, then less and less drastic until you reach full turn.

After an hour of frustration playing historic rally in Australia with the 480 bhp Peugeot 205, and not even being able to finish the 1st stage without crashing and being painfully slow, I decided to take a look at the settings (didn't even know there were sensitivity settings), and tried out yours. After a couple of tries to get used to the new handling , I saw 20 secs improvement and was placed 889th in the global leaderboards (my best global placement after a week of playing) despite losing a couple of seconds due to spinning once. The car handles so much better now and no longer understeers. That was a big help, thank you!

Thank you very much for the detailed and much needed information on these settings. Usually, With any car 4WD or FF those settings arent really a problem. When players get to Rear wheel drive or propulsion cars, thats when it gets messy. I have 2 points to made regarding those on controllers.I usually keep a very high sensitivity (around 90) and dead zone is a fix 10-20. Saturation especially on a controller with a powerful car that tracts on the rear wheel in real life you will rarely be at 100% every time you turn or every time you press the gas. In real life you anticipate each turn and acceleration but you would never be at 100% every turn every acceleration. So to be at 91-92% is more realistic by being at 108-110 saturation. I dont do middle on a controller.

Please Help - The throttle starts @ around 70 80%, but while checking on "Input Reporting" it works fine... but not in game, Do we know any fix here? Happens on Dirt Rally, Forza 5, and all.

yeah, I didn't actually used wheels with FFB, but looks like for Group B and RGT cars it's pretty much a requirement, otherwise they're too unpredictable :/

For rwd cars you have to let go or control your throttle in corners and such

with the rwd cars i like to set the final drive ratio higher so less torque goes to wheels. it helps with the tires spinning out in the ford H3RWD.

Hi there! I just got DR2 and currently I don’t have my wheel so I had to use my DualShock 4 controller temporarily. But, I can’t seem to get the ffb to be working, at all. The vibration and feedback setting is also completely locked. I tried launching the game with and without DS4Windows and nothing’s changed. Anyone has any fix to this? TIA gents

Does anyone else here find it not sensitive enough? I don't mind the game on a wheel, it's great fun just noisy. The controller is great except for when i'm in a skid and i need to steer into the drift, it always limits my angle and I slowly slide off the road whichever way i'm drifting lol. I know the wheel has more angle cause I can stop and turn the wheel a good 3/4 of a turn further than it allowed me to do while in the drift. It wasn't reaction time either, the steering angle was limited past a certain angle while in a slide and this is easy to replicate. I run 100% sensitivity, DS4.

This set up and a little retuning cut a full 20sec off kaye pass for me in the FE MK2 for me in like my 3 run. I love to dive the Group A and B cars but I always felt like I was fighting the car. Turns out I was fighting the controller settings. Thanks.

It doesn't matter what settings I use. But as soon as I touch the stick, my steering wheel turns 90 degrees. And the outer deadzone is absurdly huge. At around 60% of the left stick travel, I already get full steering wheel rotation. Unfortunately, this game is unplayable on a controller for me.

i like having it up for tires you can feel when they start to slip it helps with detecting grip levels. if the other ones are turned up too high tho it can be confusing

So... It turns out I'm actually a pretty good driver with these tweaks, what a huge difference. Before hand it was so sluggish and horrible to drive, now its incredibly enjoyable. I actually even increased the steering sensitivity to 90 and the linearity down to 3, I likes me a twitchy car. Thanks man, what a big help.

Yes, for sure. The problem will be that your car steers worse which means you'll be much slower.

My personal controller settings and a good basis to tweak on... Sensitivity: 100 Linearity: 3 Deadzone: 5 (as low as possible) Others: Default You absolutely need direct and responsive input to control and react to powerful cars. And remember: slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
