However the legacy lives on. I went to Phil Price rally school and the instructor really wanted 1-6 notes, so I took my pen and paper, and managed to sneak a extra extra long in there. As I left, I said to the instructor "Cultured Fellows will know what I mean" and thus, the legacy of the extra extra long was preserved

I'm so glad to see a good driver struggle with the Polish stages, gives a pleb like me some confidence. I mean, I'm only top 25% in the daily/weekly/monthly challenges. Edit: Ah, Sweden, snowing with sunshine poking through. As if you need to see anything in a rally anyway :P

Can I suggest a repalcement? Art of Rally has recently gone to Switch with a new location and four new cars(together with Wreckfest it's the olny game with the Toyota MR2, and the veryone and only with the ECV2 Delta and rally prototype Lada, even if arcadish(probably)). And there's this unknown Pikes Peak-like game called Zerocar Future Motorsport, with eco-friendly(full electric) cars on tarmac tracks. It's a nice concept(and the models are sick) so I'm a bit sad it's almost not being considered at all in the community...

if my memory serves me correctly, in this game, classic cars have exaggerated specifications, that's why they are better than higher class cars

More or less. Power output is approximately the same it would be in real life but the cornering speed they have is much higher, those cars lacked a lot in differentials and suspensions and that's not reflected in the game.

By the way I've read some interviews with Michelle Mouton, she was champion at Pikes Peak twice, and WRC sub-champion with the final Audi Quattro S2 with around 600hp~. She describes the technique to drive the car as start and stop, full throttle after a corner, then braking to almost a halt to take the following one, then full throttle again. The Quattro was infamous for its vicious understeer so it makes sense to drive it that way because it had the torque of a F1 car on gravel. But it can't compete with a current WRC when on tarmac drivers are going full grip on non-hairpin turns due to the aero the cars have nowadays. Not to mention the suspension was just elementary. A current WRC/WRC2 just doesn't give a damn about the condition of the track, the suspension absorbs all the bumps and irregularities of the terrain while in the 80s it was the driver's body the one who endured that. That ends up becoming extremely physically demanding and exhausting, which leads to the driver being slower as the stages go on.

For me I am not a driver in games but putting dirt rally 2.0 on manual helped me so much on corners and I never use manual in games. Also turning off the hud helps you for you mentally try to push yourself Too much
