The car goes airbourne and all of the sudden the wheels are hitteng the ground real hard causing the steering wheel to turn really fast. I think it is not that unlikely that the driver would break his arms from the forceful impact.

This depends on the snow, if it's ice based this happens IRL. Though in this video the car rolls on the road so the axles could bend regardless.

actually does, i can tell you by experience. a bank of soft snow at high speed can make a lot of damage, after a while the snow get hard like ice, some time can last weeks, that type of snow can even kill you in a car accident.

Because of the sponsors in the game they can make a real damage physics , cause pieces of the car could blend or be dropped and sponsors pay to be there all the race even car manufacters dont want their cars look like scrap

Kevin Jones But explosions aren't even vanilla. The game handles stuff pretty well but not explosions because its not meant to. And the game is still being improved. Its also a shame those are the only videos because driving cars in it is fun.

If you think this damage is good, or even acceptable, let alone anywhere near realistic, then you're totally clueless and have never seen a car crash in your life,which is weird, considering you have access to internet. Again, Codemasters is shit at damage, so is everyone else except BeamNG. It's the only game out there that ACTUALLY simulates the body of a car and all it's parts in real time, with realistic physics, and the cars are damaged in a VERY realistic way and totally in real time, without any pre-programmed damage models.

realistic damage, well not on the side of the cars, they have very strong reinforcements on the sides to prevent doors bending in like that, the whole cockpit is pretty much one rollingcage that will not give in if you crash into tree sideways.

It will give in if there is high speed involved in real life. Search for fatal rally crashes here on KZbin and you'll get lot of hits on search for crashes that are sideways to tree. Those are pretty much the only crashes these days that can be fatal in rally.

ThePetrolheadEU amateur rally cars dont really count as they might not have the top end parts from the strongest materials, wrc car rollcage is so firm it wont bend on a high speed crash. its made from same stuff as f1 rollcages.

On top of my head there is at least Michael Park who was co-driver of Markko Märtin and he died in 2005 after going sideways to tree. And it was WRC Peugeot. But that's not the point. The point is that with enough speed there is no roll cage that will not bend.

ThePetrolheadEU of course you can die even if you had the strongest rollcage because quick stop is like a knockout punch to your face, your brain will be squished to back of your skull and same goes to your internal organs and then they bounce back, which may cause brain damage and damage organs.

It would also take up a lot of resources, and because this was a game made for consoles and the average PC player, it would greatly reduce the performance of the game on an average spec platform and thus reduce the total revenue generated from the game...

Yep. There are many objects in the map that should be broken/deformed by the car and not the other way around. Like those sponsor tables and snowbanks. Apart from that, this is a gr8 mod m8. i r8 5/7.

Yes, this mod does not even come close to being realistic, but I don't know why people think the soft body physics of beamNG would be suitable for a rally game. Crash physics like that of beamNG's would be even further away from being realistic to those of the original in DiRT rally, due to roll cages and specialised bodies, however, I do believe the body of the cars could fall apart more, and the physics could be greatly improved, but the car should not be crushed into a ball of scrap after a crash.

Quadraxon then you try and render 1000+ pieces of softbody phisics, indiviualy rendered, because at the moment, the closest your to that is beamNG, or some 8,000 dollar program that runs on super computers.

I never liked how car feels when driving in any dirt rally game... they're gliding so much like there's no traction at all, it's like when you start drifting you immediately lose total control of a car, no speed loss during friction and you're in gods hands.

Yea, but BeamNG has soft body physics, dirt doesn't, the modders can't completely re-write the crash physics for the game, just tweak the existing ones. BeamNG doesn't have licensed cars, manufacturers don't like seeing their cars completely destroyed.
