Yup. Built one last year. Didn't realize how heavy it felt until I spent some time on my HT then went back to the Status. only a 3 lb difference, but it pedals like thats a 15 lb difference. So on top of being a fun bike it's also really good for fitness.

The sight is all mountain while the optic is a short travel trail. Even though the optic is 140/125 I have heard it performs just as good as most enduros if your decent at picking lines

I have the 140 and it absolutely shreds any feature. One thing I found was that I would have to pedal more then any one else when hitting the bike park lines or simply trying to keep my speed on flatter sections because of the grippy butcher tire combo, so I got a maxxis aggressor in the rear and it was a game changer, it climbed much better and had a major difference in rolling capability while still having all the grip in the rear.

I’ve been on this bike more than a year! Fair review. I find it climbs much better than the other bikes I ride… P3, Demo 7. Took some getting used to for the weird geometry, but once you figure it out, it’s a blast!

Agreed. I got mine a year ago (extremely) lightly used for $2000, tossed a GX drivetrain on it, and I absolutely love it. It can feel like a lot of bike on mellow trails, but that isn’t what I bought it for. It makes my favorite trails more fun

Absolutely love mine. Total North Shore ride. Fireroad climbs and party down. It is reachy though, find myself having to focus on front end weighting, maybe should have sized down but it's still totally fun. Wheelies, manuals, bonks and whips on everything. Contemplating putting my SLX brakes on it, though. I'm still undecided on the Code feel. They work...but it doesn't feel like they will. No confidence after multiple bleeds.

Spot on. Hog on the climbs, washy on the flats, blast at the jump park and descents. Still a great bike for $3k. And will run a 29er on the rear if you want a good all around bike that climbs a bit better.

It's interesting when you asked "Does it feel efficient or grippy?". Lots of people forget that having a super high anti-squat isn't win-win. You lose out on how active the suspension is while pedalling if you have too much anti-squat. Ideally you would have just over 100% (105-110%). This way you are accounting for pedalling forces and some bobbing of body weight but not making the suspension overly stiff/harsh which can cause loss of traction. It would be cool if you made a video that explained suspension kinematics, anti squat, anti rise, chain growth, wheel path, pedal kick-back etc. and talk about the pros and cons of each. Lots of people diss the FSR suspension because it's "simple" compared to virtual pivot bikes but that simplicity has some benefits too and results in suspension that is very active. Nobody is going to say FSR is the most efficient pedalling platform, but it certainly is plush when set up well.

I have had this bike for a few months now. I have taken it in easy Trail rides, and I took it to a bike park last week. The bike is s little challenging to climb, but it does ok. Downhill and jumping is where this bike comes to life. Riding the bike park, the more I threw at this bike, it asked for more.overall, i am happy with the purchase. As a side note, i bought the bike New for $1,500, which was a steal.

I went from a Stumpy to a Status for a bit more capability without breaking the bank for an Enduro... In Phoenix, AZ This bike rides great! Very capable and fast on the downhill. Feels like you can ride the steepest of features confidently. On trail rides it is a bit extreme like they said. You have to pay attention to it a lot, and that makes longer trail rides less comfortable. I really like the way it climbs technical features. Winches right up on the back tire, and very forgiving. Not a very efficient bike, but extremely capable and confident when you get to the fun stuff!

I run a 140 with a 150 fork its a blast and has only marginally tamer geo. Definitely prefer 165 cranks, high mode and a different drivetrain. I dont really see the downsides to running either 140 or 160 as a enduro rig if you take them as a big day on the bike pedalling with friends.

I tried 160mm 27.5 fork and that was a blast. Bumped my 36 to 150 with the same idea. 140 is a sleeper bike. That mod you've done puts the geo into transition scout territory at lower cost. That's kinda what drew me to the 140.

Got this on sale and it's awesome. But yeah, kinda sucks on the uphill and if you're not doing a lot of downhill. Still great fun though. I would stick with a smaller size unless you're doing big downhill stuff. The larger sizes for your height are going to be more of a reach but should be more stable. At least that's what Specialized says.
