Nice to see how you go about it. I have a backyard track originally built by Mark Barnett "The bomber". After it was built, the track exchanged owners and fell into neglect. I have fully restored it, but not without some headaches *Literally* (some jumps ended up being nasty kickers). My jump making skills are improving due in large part to the internet, and getting seat time on the track. It truly is an art form; keep up the good work. Any videos you make will help myself and others tremendously.

If you dont have a lot of dirt why the hell do you want a dirt ramp ? Thats like me having a car dealer ship with 2 and a half cars .

How much $$ to make a small track. I'm only talking dirt

if you are having all the dirt trucked in, no matter what size track thats going to cost a lot. unless you have your own transportation and even at that dirt is anywhere between $5-10 a yard. Its much cheaper to take the place you want to build the track and scrape it first and get dirt that way.

Nick Kolb Design your track with retention basins in it and make it so any rain water will flow to them. Then you have all the dirt you hogged out to build the retentions to use for your ramps! It's a win-win, flood management AND build dirt. You can even design the track to utilize the retentions as step down to step ups, and when they fill with water have alternate track lines to bypass. If money isn't a problem, you can have dry wells dug in the base of the retention and filled up with rock, then you have even more dirt, and you won't have standing water in your retentions.

How you decide distance between jump and landing spot?Here on the video you jumping for first time that new jump,how you know how fast to approach jump?

After you have been building jumps and testing them for so long you get a feel for it. You also must know your abilities and the bikes ability. But for me the jumps I build I can usually do by eye, I start to measure things when they become bigger. This jump had a 25ft gap? The jump has actually changed and now is a 40 or 50 ft gap, when they get bigger I actually do length and height measurements. There are formulas online for this.

Barkz711 Can you show me where i can find this formulas online? I want to build few jumps like that on your video,and few rythm section and maybe some whoops but i dont have a layouts for that.I once build jump and landing spot by eye with my old loader that i once had and when we finish with jump no one dare to try it :) We put landing spot too close to jump and when my brother jump it for first time he missed landing spot a lot and landend on flat land and almost crash,then we never use this jump again. XD

I would just Google it... try all different searches. Go over to www.dirtwurx.com/track_tips.php they talk a lot about different techniques and they use what I use, 3:1. But professional riders ride at a 2:1

they can be as far or as short as you want. its all has to do with a 3:1 or 2:1 ratio
