Damn man, busted knuckles, bled for us and everything. Thanks a boatload, every other video is on fancy stands or some special gizmo involved... I got a bucket and nice set of spoons, now I'm ready to try my first tire change.👍

Yeah!! I do the same thing! I put about 6 inches of concrete, in the bottom of my bucket so it doesn't slide around, and is more stable.

I don't know why I am obsessed with tire changing Videos lol I don't even have a dirt bike. Although when I had my KLR I used to the zip tie method to change the tires. This ensures that both beads are down in the well and you pry them both off together

just curious but have you ever had issues with bending spokes using a bucket
@bud176
@bud176 2 жыл бұрын
I can't say I've experienced any spoke bending ever during a tire change. I go pretty slow and take small bites so usually not much tension on rim or spokes.

Dont both sides of tire have to be in drop center? Because if not the opposite side is still on shoulder i try to squeeze bottom and top at dame time

We do one side at a time but yes you sure can squeeze both sides in there. It takes a little more strength that way. :)

@bud176

When they seem glued to the rim just use your tire spoon carefully pry down under the bead right at a knobby and help push it down. Sometimes ya have to pick 3 different spots to pry on.

why cant any of these videos show them removing a crusty old worn out tyre, they always remove a nice soft, flexable ne tyre, of course it looks easy, because it is
@bud176
@bud176 9 күн бұрын
I will have to try that one next time. We love to help! The trick to old crusty tires is using the paste after getting the old bead pried down to lube it up. I hear you on those being harder and agree 💯. Putting the paste between tire and rim will help it glide right off.

To get all of the air out. Much easier with a tube that is completely drained. Put the valve back in when completely empty to prevent air from bellowing back in.
