Mike and Justin thanks for taking time out of your day off to make a video, looked like fun!.

The more I see it the more I love Mike's ride! He gets into the most awkward positions and just drives it out! Mind you, maybe not everyone else could do that, as Rory has taught him well! The only thing is, Mike has such a good head on those shoulders, he knows exactly where to place the camera for those quirky shots that leave you guessing which way up you are. As for justin, welcome back you have been missed and your driving is as good as ever. Thanks guys...

It's got to be very hard to film and play to! I know that there's a lot of us who appreciate all the effort you guys put into this! Thank you so much for all the effort and trouble, we love seeing the great pictures and the repairs. Keep up the great work and STAY safe!!

Good to see Justin back after an “excused absence “. Also good to see he has his priorities straight and values time he can spend with family. I hope he appreciates the off-road tutoring from you guys, I would consider paying good money to have a chance to learn those skills from some of the best in the business.

Justin needs vent valves for that tank. A one way valve that opens when it's upright and closes with any gas pushing on it. I've seen crawler buggies with one on each side! Also need to route fuel lines so they cool the fuel rather than heat it!

Kudos Justin for knowing that Family is First and . . . Forever. I appreciate Mike's relaxed and even demeanor. What originated as WWII propoganda, 'Keep Cool and Carry On' (KCCO) has since morphed to our Pop Culture as 'Keep Cool and Chive On'. KCCO, if you know, YOU KNOW!

Lol trailmater crew... Go wheeling all the time as part of work... so what do they do on a weekend? Go wheeling some more. What do they do for the bachelor party? Wheel. What do they do in between wheeling? Wheel. What do they do when they are in a traffic jam while wheeling? Wheel some radio control cars. That's when you know.... that you are happy just wheeling. ;-)

Mike, Justin, go to junk yard get a filler neck that has those vent tubes on the side of the neck, weld a plate to your “new” filler neck, this should be about a foot or so tall, bolt it to the tank, now your filler has a vent tube a good foot above the tank, where you can run a new vent line anywhere you wish. Downside is you may now have to fill the tank from inside the bed of the truck, sorry I don’t have all the answers just thought of this while you gentlemen well talking about it and explaining all the previous routes to the vent line that didn’t work well. I do enjoy this channel a lot, keep it up and going
@dirtbillydeluxeАй бұрын
Thank you!!!
@chefwheelsАй бұрын
since we filmed this video I ended up doing almost exactly what you described. found an adapter online and mounted the original filler neck straight out the top of the tank! It's working perfectly, and yes I have to hop in the bed to fill up 😂 Great suggestion!
@KevinHaley-hv9hdАй бұрын
@ sorry on having to fill from inside the bed, I think if it was led to one side, you would be back at square one with a leaker anytime the truck was out of level, sorry for that, don’t have a solution to cure both problems.

Good repair, (nice clutch, btw!) Great views, few chuckles... Nice content! Definitely need to cool those fuel lines, gas starts to boil at 100°f (some parts of the mix are 400°f), so you're probably venting constantly, any splash in that corner of the tank is forced up that line. Adding a chamber above the tank (larger hose/pipe?) To let fumes by & the liquid drain back (heck, a cooling coil might gain fuel back, lol! ). The vented gas cap comment from Mike is right on...

@katreniaclarkАй бұрын
I would have to go with protecting your fuel lines and the bottom of the tank as well as a longer vent hose with a complete loop in it to prevent syphoning. Also try and vert from the middle top of the tank.

Hey Justin.. On your gas tank breather hose spitting hot gas and fumes. Attach a small windshield washer fluid tank or radiator over flow tank to the gas breather hose. The gas will be caught in it and not be spit out on everything, even if you roll over. You may have to empty it every once in a while. Or attach another hose to it and run it to the main gas tank.. The little tank acts like a relief valve or reservoir relieving the pressure.. If you attach another hose to it and on to the main tank, it can pressurize and push the gas into the main tank. Good luck
@janesy86Ай бұрын
Rollover valve, 3 sides and down. And use a vented catch can.
@jilbertbАй бұрын
But, but! Justin's fuel door is closed! How can the truck see where it's going?! 👀 ❤Thanks Guys!❤
@jaaremynicewanderАй бұрын
That tank should have two vents, preferably on opposite corners. You do seem to have a fuel heating problem too. You really can't fix that tank unless you want to weld another vent in, preferably the opposite corner. Something you can try that's cheap or free. Somewhere in the vent line install a chamber or larger diameter pipe section for a little reservoir. That might allow enough room for the vapor to pass the fuel, without pushing it up a long straw

I would be interested in how far down in the tank does the vent tub go,? It should be like minimal sticking into the tank,in speedway they used to make it have three loops around the Gerrycan, (tank) and threw the floor, 😂 thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones

You can put a fuel filter to act as a one way valve in the vent line Flow towards the t put T into your return fuel line the vent line into your return line t !

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't the vent line supposed to be connected to the top of the filler neck? Solution: build a proper filler neck to the driver's side of the bed and connect the vent line accordingly..
