Great video! Aaron Gwin is such a beast on the bike. Some people think that he's just "naturally fast", but he is a true professional and trains like a beast. I think he is the reason why a lot of people realize that it's not the bike it's the rider. Not to take anything away from all the times that he won with huge margins, or when he won without a chain. But to me the most impressive race he finished was at Leogang in 2014 where his rear tire blurped at the beginning of the race and he rode the whole way down on just the rim. He didn't win but he finished. Anyone else in their right mind would have stopped .... that's beast mode.

Naturally fast = Rat Boy That'd be a better example than Gwin, who has structure and regimen.

Don't think for a second that the Rat didn't train hard, smart, and have structure when he was on top.

Rumor has it, Rat is an undercover gym rat (no pun intended). He works super hard.

Glaspell is right about the amount of young groms wanting to be like gwin after his 2011 season and Aaron's revival of the scene in the US because I became one of the young kids he inspired! Aaron was literally my hero when I was 11 and 12 or so. I got to meet Aaron in 2013 at the national championships in Angel Fire, He had just won the pro race and I had podiumed in my category as well, we got a picture together and I had about 1000 questions to ask him but before I could even get out 1 he was asking me how my run was and where I was from. I don't think I asked him a single thing, It was such a normal interaction I was almost baffled at how regular he was. I'm still racing and inspired by what Gwin has done for the sport and there are loads of people who race Pro GRT's on the west and east coast who could tell a similar story of motivation from Aaron.

I remember in the early 2000s driving over 70 miles to the only place (gas station) I knew of to get copies of Dirt magazine. Damn I miss riding.

um.... Shawn Palmer.... don't get me wrong I Love Aaron Gwin. I guess Shawn was too much of a bad boy
@cup_and_cone7 жыл бұрын
Shaun definitely changed DH scene from skinsuits and Tioga disc wheels to motocross helmets and baggy clothes, which brought more popularity, but he didn't dominate like Gwin.

I agree. Aaron is a bad ass. Shaun was just who i grew up watching.
