Yes the overhead crane makes working in a shop much better. Clinton @ C&C Equipment uses forklifts in his shop, he said it was because an overhead crane was too heavy for his building.

Small machines like this are usually at the bottom of the servicing list, hence they are driven into the ground, believe it or not your one isn't too bad. We have had them in for repair with major faults and they are still used on a regular basis. Treated nicely these tiny trucks go on forever plus they exceed their limits without complaining too much. Yip with a little maintenence they are a pleasure to operate

My John Deere Gator XUV 850D also has the yanmar 3 cyl diesel engine. It's a good engine. Ours is approximately 2006 or so model (can't recall exactly what year we got it, it was before 2007 when I was sent to Iraq). Ours tracks hours not miles, it has 700ish hours in it.

Your videos never disappoint DP and your mechanical abilities are inspiring. On the other hand, i realize that the lifting strap that you used is very strong and sufficient for the job, but i would hope and suggest that you guys would be more "expect the unexpected" minded when working under equipment, an extra layer of safty is not a bad thing and we need you healthy and making videos for a long time. Thanks for sharing and please understand that i reluctantly bring this observation because what you bring to the table matters to many, "we care buddy".

I know it's to late for this time, but to help in removing the axles in the future, lightly coat the splines of the axle with anti-seize. With the water and mud you drive through, it makes it much easier to remove them when needed.

I remember when the John Deere Gators came out. The military definitely added those to their fleets. Started with the 4x4 versions and eventually the 6x6 versions. Then the Polaris Rangers came out and that was a huge upgrade from the Gators. They were perfect for using around the shop areas and small jobs. The Gators & Rangers were easy to work on.

Mike, I have the perfect ride-a-long person to go with Crash! What about Officer Hoover? 🤣🤣. Great job on fixing the Polaris, but I think it is time to get a new one. Why not get a bigger with a hitch so that it can pull the field tile trailer. Then you don't have to bring both the 955 and the small Polaris to the job site. Not sure if the current Polaris could pull the trailer. 😁😁

So I imagine the starter switch was shipped on FedEx. I had an order from Lowes shipped from north of Chicago to Oklahoma, so it went from Chicago to Kansas City, made a left turn at KC and went to New Jersey, then to Dallas and finally to Oklahoma. Wasn't Lowes fault. It arrived after I needed it and ended up taking back to my local Lowes and they refunded my money. Good to see you got the Polaris running.

I have a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 400 ho ATV with 27,750 miles on it and I have done all the work on it, new tires and rims and drive belts, clutch CV joints rear only, oil change and filter every month or two, since 2019 paid 2,500 dollars for it with 2,456 miles on it, I do all the work on it as it's my only transportation source so far better than any other type of ATV that I have owned in my 55 years of running the crap out of them, I have owned Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and I would say that Polaris Sportsman ATV and UTVS and snowmobiles are built in America Roseau Minnesota since 1954, I have owned over 6 Polaris ATV'S since 2004 and my first Polaris Sportsman ATV was a 500 4x4 that I put over 45,000 miles on it in 6 yrs, and I never touched the motor, just changed oil and filter and belt replaced new parts new tires and other new parts, Polaris Sportsman ATV and UTVS are the best built and made in America Roseau Minnesota USA

I would keep a close eye on that boot. As much as i do not like to say bad things i believe there is a better than 505 chance that the boot will come off the cv joint. I the boot there is a retaining ring made into it with out that fitting into the groove of the joint it is likely it will slip off. The other thing is how tight the clamp is. Obviously i cannot tell for sure how tight the clamp is , but without the tool I know how hard it is to properly . I have replaced/repaired many cv joints/axles.

There is something in the adage 'It's easier to blame someone else than take the responsibility yourself'' - the Dirt Perfect and MBTS motto. Little Polaris has done a great job over the many miles of rough terrain so TLC was well deserved. Who busted the trailer - Oh Crash did :)

Wire is a hazard to every piece of rotating machinery. Fortunately the old fire ax makes quick work of it as long as things around it don’t melt too fast. Ask anyone who has ever bushhogged into a fence line or onto a spool of barbed wire grown up in the bushes.
