crack in diff.....but built and ready to go.....hardly. I'd buy a diff case, then start a build.... as for mud....I think a 2 WD sport quad with bearclaws could be used on that course....and place well. mud is deep.that kind looked like damp topsoil.
@lugnut10097 жыл бұрын
And tires are too heavy and over aggressive for that track. The "veteran" that beat them had much smaller/lighter tires.
@dirttraxtv7 жыл бұрын
Well when you find the crack days before you go to the race it's hard to get a case and rebuild the diff, funny thing though, the case still only has the hairline fracture, it's the internals that are shot. In our class 90% of folks had tires of similar size, and we didn't know what the course would look like, we expected another 12 inches of water/mud like they had the year before but there was less. We had a plan, we followed it through and we stick by our build. Heck we had some of the fastest qualifying times there, so we couldn't have been very far off. Next time bring your 2wd sport quad and show me, because the 500cc stock class 4wd ATV's almost didn't make it.
@lugnut10097 жыл бұрын
The mud racing tracks I have seen were also much deeper than that particular one. Maybe the 'veteran' that raced you had some knowledge of the track that nobody else did and purposely mounted his smaller/lighter tires. I think if your tires would have been as light or even close to the same weight as his, you would have smoked him. Y'all built a mean Can-am and I would've thought it would have been very hard to beat. I used to race a little (emphasis on 'little') years ago. There was one guy that would beat me so bad on an old 2 stroke with skinny light tractor tread tires, if the track was shallow I couldn't touch him. But if the track was deep or really thick and muddy he couldn't touch me. ** I don't think a 2wd sport bike could have made it through any of that BTW...
@jorda.24127 жыл бұрын
Dirt Trax Television sorry if I hurt a feeling. 30 years of quadding and old man opinions... love to race you on similar track.... unfortunately I must work to survive and repair my bikes....so time is a thing. if you come visit the skeg of Saskatchewan give me a call. I grew up riding 2 WD in mud..farm is 4 miles from major forest in NE Sask.never owned or own a 4wd other than a '11 rzrs. as for a 500 4wd almost not making that 4"-6" deep mud track....says a lot about how wrong modern quads are. to much weight on all quads today. why do they have to weigh 800 - 1000 lbs? give me 30-50 HP on a 400 lb chassis...not 50 or 80 on 1000 lb. opinions are like assholes- everybody has one. ride on. good luck on 3wd bomb.build ever thought the left pulling is the natural pull of drive train due to rotational force, combined with 4 WD pull of front end.... actually only one massive tired wheel spins in front....I bet it's the left wheel. my bikes all have pull on the chain side and favour that direction of pull if I don't counter weight to non chain side....left on warrior and dvx and crf450rbike....right on ds650, just 30 years of racing,observation....and mistakes good channel,thanks for that.

Yup, exactly! Agree 100%. Why is this a thing now? I can't go 2 videos without someone calling an ATV a bike. What the heck? A quad has never been a bike, so I don't see how it was ever a habit .
