I built one just like this. I also have a Renegade 1000xxc. The Grizzly just hooks up all day long and is so much slimmer. Great machine! Expensive to build but worth it!

This looks like the modern day version of the Wolverine 350 Yamaha stopped making back in 2007. Can-Am and Polaris have been making these 4x4 sport quads with the Renegade and Scrambler for so long. It's sad to see Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki still don't have a clue and probably never will.

very cool, id be curious to see an 850 scrambler or renegade, or even a 1000 of each do the same little course and see what kinds of times you get from those stock machines compared to this heavily modified one

Yamaha could really do something with this idea. 100+ HP is simply too much for a quad 95% of the time. I still believe the grizzly with its power output and lighter weight is more of a everyday sweet spot. On the trail especially. 40 ish HPs is nice!
@nberardi1037 күн бұрын
It is a pretty neat idea, if you want to "compete" with Renegades and Scramblers, but when you say it rides like a 4WD Raptor, it is because it basically is a 4WD Raptor, adding shaft drive/belt, LOL. I would probably just go ahead and get a Raptor and flick it through the trails if I knew i was gonna get dirty like a sport quad.
@OHVLife3 күн бұрын
Yeah, but getting a raptor does not make for as good a content.

Watched the first Yamaha build. Now watching this build both were very very cool. Then started thinking. How cool it would be to do a wolverine 450 build. Based of the kodiak 450eps. Kinda like the 450 wolverine could buy around 2008 or so. This build along with the high mileage Honda Rincon are both great episodes.

Also have a gear reduction, custom clutch work ,highly modified air box and RJWC exhaust with the DYNOJET POWER VISION 3 Stage 3 109 HP Stage 3R 113 HP Check it out on Polaris ATV Forum DARK KNIGHT. DRAGY VIDEOS coming soon. 0-60 should be in the 5's.

Love it! Please Please Please do a comparison video with the others, Renegade 650/1000 and the Scrambler 850/1000. Obviously there is a bunch of money in this grizzly but it would just be cool to see how they do on a small test track/woods section or just back to back reviews and drag races. I may have missed a video but also what engine mods got done. Raptors can make 60-65hp pretty easy without splitting the case. I would assume 55-60hp in this. It's anywhere from about 40 - 190lbs less weight that the others. Very very cool build, well done

What keeps Grizzly appart is the nimble, agile feeling. If it could get the HP of the renegade 1000 or scrambler 1000 it would be something completely appart.

The yamaha 700engine has a lit of potential, you see a lot of turbo raptors with huge modifications and they stay reliable, without having too much gadgets, even know maybe renegades and scramblers have more bling bling but i dont trust them at all, i worked at a brp dealership once and god they are a pain in the ass to maintain, im ready to sacrifice a bit of performance and fancy gadgets to keep the peace of mind you have with a yamaha or honda, and also vtwins sounds like harley davidsons wich i dont like at all

Good effort. I would want a wider long travel 4x4 yamaha. Did you change a arms and CVs? Did the powersteering survive? Is there anything you van do to make brakes stop the big tires sooner? I do my own work. I'm not paying for a clutch kit. I'll build one to my liking. Learned to love yamaha again after buying a Raptor. Quality pipe, cam, tuner and an intake to make power. I don't like the mbrp already has chaf marks or the tin foil skid plates. Poly holds up better and retains it's shape.

The only two brands to have enough spine to actually make something like this for the market were Can-Am and Polaris. The Big-4 Japanese brands are just a timid husk of their former selves. They don't do anything new and what they do offer feels same-old same-old. Luckily out of all four brands Yamaha still has it in them to keep offering 2-stroke YZ's. The others don't offer anything all that interesting. They really need to start trying something new.
