Kit bashing is great fun, choping about some plastic to get it to suit this power bogie was a super project.
I have left links below of the places you can get your items.

The Power bogie is from ebay. Here is the link to the one that I purchased.

I really do love the way you fully embrace Rule 1, Tris, and just make and run whatever you feel like. I'm sure this won't be the last time you make the rivet-counters spit out their tea and I blummin' love it! I always learn something useful from your videos too. That little diesel is ridiculously cute and the weathering is great. Cheers 👍

Great little loco kit bash, and with the price of some new models this is great for newer and younger entrants to the hobby.

I said on instagram it reminded me of the dock authority shunter, the fact that that is what you based it own shows the great skill you have. Nice work

The Dapol kits are some pretty fun ones to work with, but the toolings for them are from Rosebud Kitmaster, dating back around 60 years, and nearing life expiry from what I’ve heard, nonetheless they’re fun to work with, I’ve done a few motorisation projects with them myself, prairies on a modified Triang Jinty chassis, a School on the L1’s, a Bulleid on the Princess’s, recently saw one on RMWeb where someone took a BoB kit and a 9F kit, and spliced them together to make a rebuilt condition BoB, something I’m tempted to do myself Love seeing what you’ve been up to, keep it up!

I do something like this, except using the old 1970's / 1980's Lima American 0-4-0T Porter steam loco chassis modified to take old clockwork steam loco body shells. This Lima loco is a really nice runner, with scale flanged wheels, but not popular with UK modellers. However, they're plentiful & cheap on E-Bay. So far, I've created three freelance industrial / light railway steam locos: One using a black Triang R.659 / R.660 clockwork "Top Tank" body shell. With the fake cylinders removed from the body shell, it fits perfectly onto the shortened Lima chassis. One using a black Hornby clockwork "Continental" 7321 body shell. Had to remove the fake cylinder details to make it fit the shortened Lima chassis. "This was the proof of concept" first conversion build loco attempt. One using a red Brimtoy clockwork body shell. This one has a very LNER heavy shunting 0-4-0T look about it. I use it as the foundry works shunter, on my layout. I'd like to build another one but the Brimtoy body shells are like hen's teeth to find. All are chipped to run on my old Hornby Zero One DCC controlled layout.

Beautiful Cat..! Nice job with the Kit too. Always wanted to have a Go at Fitting Motor & Running gear to a Kit..! I do love a Shunter & am fond of Building Kits too.! I just always Wondered if the Heat from the Motor would Warp the Plastic, with Time or Running to Long..? But You just inspired me to give it a Go. What the Hell, I will just have to Buy Another Kit, if it Does..! Cheers Tris. From a Rather Wet & Cool Downunder. 🦘🐪🦘🦎🦘

Hi Tristian. Oh my, what a lot of faffing about when there are much easier ways to paint and protect a loco's livery. Also, you can purchase wasp stripes as transfers that saves even more faffing about. Paul. 👍❤

Does the outside frames of that motor bogie have any motor support purpose or can they be removed? Reason I'm asking is I'd like to use that particular bogie for a Wisbech tram build and Im concerned the frames from the bogie would make it too wide to fit the model.

I never thought of fitting a power bogie to one of these I've got 3 of these , one with a scale engine fitted one with a reversed cab so the doors and steps are at the bonnet end and the controls in the back of the cab that needs finishing so the 3rd unbuilt one I may have to stick a bogie in. I was thinking of getting a 4th and doing a double engine ended one on 8 wheels

Hi Tris, Another fab project, amazing, credible little model you've built (again)✌️🤔😊 I loved the Dock Authority Shunter, I've still got mine. You've given me an idea re power bogies for my NG (0-16.5 locos), they're a chore now some Japanese manufacturers are no longer with us. I was building something very similar in O. However I also aquired a cheap O2 body too, so I'm a bit torn, as I have an 02 chassis and a, iirc, Czech, 0-4-0 chassis too. Do you ever have issues with Vallejo paints, you seem to like them, (I use Lifecolor, Railmatch, Humbrol all without issue)? Today I had a 'mare. Sprayed on some Ultimate Primer with my ancient Paasche H, all was well and good, great finish etc. (Inspired by your projects - I'm almost freelancing some Ferry Vans in O, cheaply, a what might have been scenario, hopefully credible though🤞). Cleaned out the AB etc. I had purchased some cheap, but spot on colour wise, French, acrylic paint for modern steel buffer stops. Mixed it with thinner as per usual, bit of a lighter consistency, as it was fairly thick and heavy with larger paint particles (as I said - great colour though), oh dear, even the Paasche H clogged up (that's a first). An hour clean up of the AB! The paint turned into a plastic consistency goo type mess even before it left the AB😲🙄💔🤬 Never seen owt like it🙄😲 I like to experiment, hadn't had an AB c@ck up like that since circa 1977. That'll teach me for being adventurous and experimental!

The Vallejo paints arnt bad, they vary really as the pigments in each paint are different. I use the air range a lot but if I don’t have any of the right colours use their normal line which I water down and add some thinner too. I think it takes time to figure these things out. I wasn’t getting it figured out the first time I painted. I’ve cleaned my airbrush so many times I’ve got quite quick at it and always have an issue somewhere along the way but I’m ready for it so the frustrations are less. That’s just experiance which gets you thete. I’m far from an expert but I’m able to get the paint on in a consistent manor so that’s a start. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for leaving me such a comment 😊

@@OONeal Hi Tris, thanks for the info and advice on Vallejo paints, they sound okay, like Lifecolor (which sometimes need thinning and/or retarder depending on type).I'm determined to get the red paint to work now. Luckily my Paasche H is easy to clean, but the paint had "platicisised" within very quickly🙄🙄🤬 😄 Really enjoyed the video Tris, keep up the good work, hard to edit and do when you're so busy💜😊👍✌️
