This weekend we dug a trench, ran power to the crib, and have been trying to get Gerdie ready to combine barley. She's been a little hard to get along with. 🙃 Hope you're all doing well and staying safe. Thank you all SO MUCH for the love on my last video. I'm still trying to get through all the comments. Our family appreciates your support more than we can say! Until next time, farm hard, live well. xx, The Bernards

Well I was 14 when my dad died and left 650 milking Holstein's but I look back thinking my dad prepared me to run the dairy and better yet he gave me the skills to learn how work and listen etc. So looking at your children work reminds me how important it is to empower our children with self worth. Your children will know how hard you and your hubby worked to provide and by them knowing how to work creates a priceless gift you are giving them and what a great thing it is to know you can do something. Great is the day that we can see the fruits of our labors and our children call us up and say thank you for showing them work is fun when you work together and create all you want. thanks

So, you are resilient and tender. I need to hug you! Weston(sp) is incredibly a fast track fine young man, and I’m sure Lawrence is lucky and happy to have such a right hand man! Weston, pay attention because your text book is the man helping you fill those boots...Austin, amazing farm girl, want to and resilience, ooo rah! A strength inside like the lady who grows you and shows you! I love the dogs! Your emotion outside your corn crib transcended to this guy...❤️

I just walked into you channel first time. And had a shock! Your bluey startled me. Years ago I had the most lovely Heeler for many years in Aussie, spitting image of yours. I miss her still. But your lovely young assistant wrestling with the Cattle feeder cheered me up. I have two daughters so I know about "I can do it Dad"......I always swell with pride. And it gets better when they are in their 30's so you have a lot to look forward too. I hope the rain holds for you honey.

Awesome looking shed. From a guy that has worked on trucks and tractors on the farm I will say that you offer the perfect balance of assistance, moral support, or know when to leave the barn when tensions get high. I am sure Lawrence appreciates you.

Tell Wes his dad means well when he's helping him. My dad was almost 47 when I was born and 49 when my brother was born . We were always working with our dad when he was doing something . Wes will know stuff that his friends will not know and will be very impressed when he is able to do something that they never thought he could do . My dad was born in 1911 and had to go to work at a young age. Tell Lawrence I respect all he does .

thanks for letting me see more about the Gleaner combine. retracting fingers at the top of the feeder house was a good idea to keep material moving and reduce clogs. cousin bought a old Gleaner and he needs to get it moved here. it's over in Nash county about 23 miles away. he planted corn this year and that's the first corn in our life time here on The Little Farm. Granddaddy or great granddaddy might have grown some corn but I got no remembrance of that. I farmed this place for the last 19 years and now cousin is jumping back in and I'm delighted with all he has done this year. always fun to see what you are up to. thanks for making videos..

The crib looks great! Combine repairs can for sure be a bit of a pain, the silver lining is that the Gleaners like your's are the easiest to service of any brand. The meals you showed looked very good, real food for real people. :-) U & LB teach your kiddo's well, & a little hard work never hurt anyone. Who ever views your videos can plainly see that Wesley + Austin want to be doing all that they can to help out. Thank you all for sharing your lives on your family farm & always keep safety in mind. Looks like time to take the pups swimming, lol.

Austin is going to have some good muscle. You can tell Lawrence drove the backhoe a time or two. It’s really nine to see Lawrence teaching Wes to work on stuff 👍👍. She shed looks really nice, from the outside would never guess how beautiful the inside looks 👍. That’s the first time I heard Bonnie bark about going on a ride.

Hey! I cook a veggie medley pretty often also-I found a solution to the potatoes taking a long time to get done. I get them ready for the frying pan but boil them instead until they begin to get tender-either stovetop or microwave. Then drain well and put in the frying pan. It cuts down on the cooking time and they seem to hold together better. Yes, it’s another thing to wash but I wash as I cook, so I don’t really mind. Thanks for that idea for supper tonight. My garden is giving me an abundance of vegetables, so I was having a hard time deciding which to cook for supper today-now I’ll cook them all!! Your crib has turned out wonderfully. Bless you and your family!!

I will give you a little tip Meredith, On your Mini-split system ( good luck for one) Make sure that you keep the filters and Coils clean, If you don't they have a habit of freezing up. Also your drain line, Have LB put a screen over the end so Mud-dauber's will go in the drain tube and build there nest and plug it up then the water will back up into your Mini-split. Mini Splits are a great idea, But they lacking in the long term usage. The only reason I know this is that my Wife worked for a Large HVAC Company, She ran the warehouse and they always had calls about the Mini-Split systems the Company installed. Not to mention that she had a Mini-Split system in her office that was always on the fritz.

If you didn't know any better, you'd think that the old corn crib was still just an old building with nothing of value inside. The transformation is amazing. Happy to see you went with the mini-split. Cold air in the summer and heat in the winter. I have one for my shop, but unlike you, my land has more lime stone than dirt. I need someone with one of the large rotary saws to trench to the building. For now, the electric line is above ground. Tillers like snow blowers look easy to operate until you run one. It doesn't help that your tiller has no drive wheels, just the single wheel in the front. Lots of body English needed to operate. OBTW, thanks for the Orrington flavorings. After seeing your video, I made a purchase of both the beef and chicken flavors. Cooked up a nice London broil on the grill and made some sauteed mushrooms with gravy for the mashed potatoes.

Another great, interesting and entertaining video Merdie - just love what you do! You should weigh one of those buckets of ground corn so Austin knows how much weight she's lifting - and you too! - that young lady is gonna have some 'guns' of her own soon! My daughter (who's 24 now) used to hang with me like a shadow and do everything I did. When she was 6 yrs old, in first grade, there was a climbing rope - probably 3" diameter - tied to a limb about 10' high, on the playground ... she was the only kid in 1st grade that could climb that rope! - hand over hand! Even the boys in her class couldn't do it. I'll tell you, I was so proud of that child! And she, too, although she didn't think it was a big deal, still took pride (with her cute little grin) in being able to do that. GIRL STRONG! Another video checked ☑️💯%❤️!

dropping washers and small nuts in the grass became so prevalent for me as I worked on things like lawnmowers .. I finally bought a sensitive little metal detector to find them back .. it worked ... and there is more to the story, .. i was randomly metal detecting this spring "just for fun" and i found an old penny .. a 1909-s which turned out to be worth something, it paid for the detector ...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventures. Corn crib turned out great, those mini-split systems sure look impressive. Some of them will even run straight off of solar panels without batteries. Saw on setup where they were using a mini-split to cool A small insulated building to use for food storage like a root cellar. Ran whenever the sun was out and cooled down into the 40s I think. Food looked great, you are so creative at making comfort foods. Stay safe, wishing you and your family the best.

Working on a dirt floor you need to go to Harbor Freight and get a cheap magnet with a handle. Worth every penny, l know from experience.

I'm pretty sure he is glad you don't ask a lot of questions to. Having machinery that you don't have to work would be great but when you do have to work on them it is never easy an never turns out good or as expected. So that said you are a smart lady.

Good looking crib , I like the old look on the outside, but modern on the inside . Yes it is called a mini split . I put one in a 16x32 small house I built for my son . you will really like the mini split , they are amazing! Your kids are really getting to be good helpers around the farm .
