Hey I sound like a broken record, but to quote another commentator on their video: “ Dirty Loops bravely asks the question: “wtf is a genre?” 😂 One of my new favourites from them. So cinematic, operatic, with those dope contrasts- and yeah, Jonah is unbelievable on his Steinway, not to mention his vocals 🔥🔥🔥 It’s etched itself into my mind and my soul…. Part epic Film music score, part badass dance music, - this one takes the cream for me, for now. Henrik had his moments in Run Away, Jonah shone brilliantly in this one, and I’m hoping for Aron’s moment to be coming soon! Thanks for listening, Steven, it sure was good to be seeing you again 🙏 🤘☺️👍

So my forst listen was "This isn't for me" but i've listened to it at least 4 times a day since it came out, and its just keeps getting better... I thoroughly impressed by Jonahs part just before it ends... He's moving his hands so damn fast.... Anyways really enjoyed your reaction... Been waiting since the track dropped...
@birger4788Ай бұрын
One thing about those intense hands at the end, is there a camera effect on them? It kinda reminds me of the movements in ”The Matrix”, right?
@TrinodiaАй бұрын
Exactly this. It grows on you and I didn't expect that so I'm glad I gave it a few more listens.
@TrinodiaАй бұрын
@birger4788 I think that's just simply that his hands move faster than the framerate can show. That gives motion blur just like when taking a photo with too long exposure length of someone and that person moves bit making the moved part a bit blurred and stretched.

Incredibly interesting. I appreciate the effort and musicianship. Like a freestyle jazz showtune hip hop fusion.

Always love your reaction! You can hear Jonah's film score- work coming through and also Aron's classical writing ( you can hear some of his beautiful classical pieces on the youtube channel Arvid &Aron). Love that they never bore us with the same music, but keep surprising us with their exceptional writing skills and musicianship ❤!!
@fiddlestix3025Ай бұрын
Yes Corine, there’s ALWAYS a surprise around the corner with these guys… 😱 Dirty Loops’ secret sauce 😉🤘
@ellenstergaardgravesen1011Ай бұрын
And Arvid & Aron isn't just classical either so again mix of genres. Try listening to their latest upload ASTRONOMANIA - starts out pretty classical but then in comes the drums which are definitely not usual for classical orchestra works... The drummer isn't credited so my guess is Aron is the master behind those 🙂

@birger4788Ай бұрын
Honestly I had to listen to it several times to get it, at first I thought I wouldn’t add it to my playlist. But now I’m completely into it. They’re kinda not writing songs anymore, it’s something else. Completely. As Fiddlestix says: wtf is a genre? And when so many fans wanted a song like ”Rock You” to make it to the charts, Dirty Loops’ answer is ”f**k the charts” 😂
@erikliterature8162Ай бұрын
Yeah, I feel like that, too. I like the songs, but the structure is not the regular one anymore. I like Runaway, too, but not like most of the earlier stuff. No verses at all in that song. Only chorus and solos. Here it looks like verses and no chorus. I need to listen to this track from a proper source file to see if I find the mixing to be okay. Dirty Loops have not really released more than one full Long Play. Phoenix and Turbo were more like EPs. Even Jonah Nilsson's release Now or Never is just over 30 minutes long. I look forward to seeing if this is another full release. I hope so.

Man, what took you so long? My first experience with Dirty Loops was watching your reactions, always enjoyable. I really like this song, maybe cause I'm a piano/keyboard player, though nowhere near ad good as Jonah. Turns out those are actual strings, pretty cool. This stuff should be on pop radio, instead of the garbage that's out there now. Of course there'd be an epidemic of Gen Z's brains blowing up, hearing actual musicianship, but that's a sacrifice I'm okay with.

I would've loved if the whole thing was built around that funk groove. Start slow, bounce into the funk and stay there. Put the classical piano bit in the bridge but roll back into that funk man. It's such a killer groove.

I'm going to be real here. I've been a fan of Dirty Loops since even before they started getting traction on KZbin, but I'm not feeling this and the last one at all. I feel like Aron is on a prolonged vacation from drumming close to his ability, I feel like Jonah is going through the motions of writing catchy pop-songs with the standard fusion elements and Henrik is at the playground just having fun with his tapping and favorite pedals. Nothing about these last two comes close to their Phoenix run that made them a household name, or even the Cory Wong collaboration that had seriously good moments. It feels unfortunate that I feel this way, but I have the highest of expectations every time they release something and I just feel slightly disappointed.
@Bimbo_MNАй бұрын
Well none of their music sounds the same. If you want their new music to sound like Phoenix or Turbo, it’s not going to. Because as they said “we’ve been there done that so many times. We don’t want to just do a pop song anymore. If we wanna do a rock and roll song that’s what we’re gonna do, if we go for it, we go for it” so their sound is always changing. And I think that’s interesting and more difficult than just a pop song everytime
@JamilaGomez82Ай бұрын
You and I feel the same way.
@waregl72Ай бұрын
Yeah, not going to let you be on that island alone. The "Techno" stuff was fine on Run Away, but it is almost to an overused point already. Jonah's piano playing is amazing in this song, and I am glad they featured it more than they usually do. They are artists and can and should do things they want to do. I just am not liking this particular journey as much as the others they have been on. Doesn't mean I am not going to listen to them and stop being a fan. I just hope they don't go completely in this current direction for too long.
