First performance of theirs I heard was Work Shit Out. I sat there, butt in seat and listened for at least a dozen times, back to back. Mind blown. Bass and drums were hardly on my radar before them. Sure, Larnell Lewis in Snarky Puppy, but other than that? Not really. Now I'm obsessed. Jonah is amazing on keys, amazing on vocals, but Henrik and Aron have me RIVETED to the screen, earphones on, obsessed. All three of them are just outrageous. I'm 70. I've listened to a lot of music through the years. Nothing remotely like this. They are so sure-footed; their chops are amazing but their ears are even better. It's not just that they are ABLE to do the impossible, but they know what to reach for. Art happens when they get together.

“They all can smile if they want to” 😅 Yes sir!! Jonah once spoke about the fun and joy they’re having when playing together, and that it is key for him in playing/singing with Dirty Loops :) It’s just so unfair when people play at that level and still can smile - ok it’s not a live performance but still…. Actually (and I haven’t yet read all the other comments yet, so might be doubling up there) but it was filmed and recorded on two different continents. The Loops in Europe and Cory and his horns in the US. They bought the same carpet, lighting etc., and then Aron, the drummer, edited the footage together :) they’d never met in person. Even the Loops did a lot of their thing via phone cause of lockdown at the time. Just crazy…. I totally agree that this version of Thriller is something new and unique, and to me feels so much more light and happy (apart from that crazy middle section) than the original, a totally different vibe. Maybe it’s that damned 12/8 shuffle groove 😊 I loved that reaction from both of you and how you both broke it down, super interesting to hear. Your smiles said it all ☺️ That thing about good bassists supporting their drummers in this way makes absolute sense. And I feel Aron and Henrik are the perfect drum n bass team :) A tiny bit unfortunate that we can’t hear your comments whilst the music is playing, but still it was gold. And it could’ve well been some kind of medicine for you. For me they always are, 100%! “Follow The Light” is another nasty one from the same collaboration between Dirty Loops and Cory Wong. It’ll make you feel back on top of the world again 😉🔥👍🔥 Looking forward to it!

To take one of the most iconic 4/4 dance bangers and force it into 12/8... It shouldn't be possible, at least not in a way that sounds so good. And especially not so seemingly effortlessly. But let's not forget about Cory's astounding brass section - they are killing it here. I just love, love, love that brilliant arrangement they have going there in the bridge, in lieu of Vincent Price's monolog. This is almost too brilliant.

I think the last time I was so excited about a band was about 30 years ago when I started to discover the music of Genesis and Yes. Dirty Loops is obviously a different genre but I love it. Those guys are virtuosos on their instruments, they have great energy and they groove like crazy. They can play a pop song that is very listenable for everyone and make it a challenge for musicians because it´s not easy to play like that at all.

As a frustrated wood chopper myself, I can see in your eyes what I'm sure is in my eyes when I listen to these cats. Aaron is just over the top! If I could play like Aaron..... you know the rest, right? I have been playing for almost 60 years. I did play with Jock Bartley (Firefall) in his early days, but was Not at the level that HE achieved. My only claim to fame. Lol

"God... they're dangerous" Indeed!! Elite musicians for sure. Dirty Loops is what happens when all 3 of the genius virtuosos in that year's intake to the national music academy become friends & make music together! And Cory Wong can not only play that guitar, but put together a *killer* brass section. There needed to be genius in the room when someone says "how about swinging Thriller in a super funky 12/8 with a movie overture interlude".... I can almost hear them giggling & grabbing instruments to start work!! #CrazyTalent :)

Their happiness comes with the freedom one may feel when you really have mastered and are in controll of your instrument. They have earned it, they have studied music for many years. To experience more of their happiness and joy you should read those credits (perhaps in your own time) because some of their comments will make you smile. Those guys have a great sense of humour.

Another great reaction, and I’ve been wanting to say this earlier: the way you do it is just the best! I mean, silencing your voices during playing the video, not too many breaks and still you get to tell us everything important. Such a joy just the way you do these reactions.

If you are going to cover an iconic classic this is how you do it. Respectful to the original but they also made it theirs. Their energy is always so good! Just to add another level to their amazing abilities. When this song was recorded Cory and Company were in Minneapolis while Dirty Loops recorded in Sweden. As of this recording none of them had ever met in person. Just so you know these guy have a very unique sense of humor and they often put fun comments in the credits at the end. Hope you're feeling better soon. I'd recommend liquids, sleep and react to "Follow the Light." Features a Henrik bass solo that is out of this world.

Man... I felt just like you until I got a feel of the groove. lol, I listened a few times and I am hooked. Let me tell you about me. I am from GARY, INDIANA, and Mike and I went to the same grad school. I used to look in their window when their dad had them practicing. He ran off my miniature butt and I didn't do that again. I went on and did 29 years in the Army and became an SGM. I still have contact with the brothers and we listened to this via Skype, and we became emotional. I got to myself and my eyes began to sweat because Mike touched this band to re-create this. They let M.J. know they LOVE him and produced their VERSION of "THRILLER" and its pure creativity. LOVE YOU M.J. old friend. (sniff)
