I just dicovered Dirty Loops and I'm hooked. The music, craftmanship and musical relations this guys show us is just incredible.One of the best bands I ever heard. 2020 might be the worst year I've lived throug (born in 63) but musically it's one of the best years ever. I don't know if it's due to me having more time on the computer becouse of the virus, or musicians have more time to make new music, but I'm declaring this the best music year since The dark side of the moon. Beeing an old grumpy Norwegian man I thought I found new gold with Aurora and Angelina Jordan. So it's hard for me to admit that my neighbors to the east have produced a band that is even more special. Sweedish music must have some kind of secret waterwell. They are mostly known here in Sweden by the musical communities. They are with Quincey Jones who said when he heard them the first time that these guys are the most talented musicians he have heard for a very long time, maybe ever, and he was particularly impressed by Jonahs vocal range. Funny you should mention the Yellowjackets. I hear Russ Ferrante in a lot of Jonah's solos. Think it is partly the fact that he uses a lot if the same kit, but woukd be amazed if he hadnt listened to Ferrante a good bit ......

Please see/hear the KZbin-link end of this post. You mentioned you love those gospel vibes that often shines through! I so totally agree with you! You also mentioned that you are always waiting for something new from DL, same as me. Maybe you have not seen below link, because, it is not really Dirty Loops, only Jonah Nilsson, though it has several interesting DL connections* It is an amateur recording from a Church in Stockholm 2011. Jonah’s youth & childhood friend, Danny Saucedo, and Jonah is singing together in local Church (Danny is actually more famous artist in Sweden than Jonah) In the recording one can hear the unmistakable vocal runs by Jona. It is the Christmas song “Say you will be there”. Sound quality is not so good and I doubt it was intended that the song would be re-played outside the Church. In all its simplicity it is one of the best versions of “Say you will be there” I heard!. I can not take credit for the Video clip, which I just found when googling DL several years ago. Really fun photos. Thanks to “Marika” for the Video - whoever you are. So, what is the other connection* with DL?? It is actually so, that without Danny Saucedo there would be no Dirty Loops today. Not with that name anyway. All those guys were/are friends back then, (still are I think) and when DL group was created - Jonah/Aron/Henrik toyed with different group names until Danny suggested that their name should be “DIRTY LOOPS” - and so it was decided. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoPbY51md6pjjKs
