You can buy files and orange wood sticks in bulk. Use plastic bags if they want to take them home. I was a cosmetologist and know that it is a small price for doing business. Fines and law suits cost more than a box of disposable nail files.
@cjmislan8 жыл бұрын
That was not much of an inspection, if clients are being worked on inspect there too. And I'm sorry if a business gets more than one violation they should be letting those customers know and closing its doors for the day until fixed. That also doesn't let them open back up without another inspection. How could peoples standards get so low that they subject themselves to dirty tables and tools. Washing your hands to remove dust after a service is not going to fix being cut by techs who don't know what they are doing. If you get a staph infection or HIV from someone who sat at that table 5 minutes earlier and got a scrape on their skin, then so did you, who's going to pay your medical bills. These types of places have shoddy work and even worse standards of hygiene why even visit them.

when you go to beauty school, you are trained to follow state sanitation regulations. when you take your state license exams, you are tested on sanitation laws. When someone opens a salon, they know the sanitation laws. The problem is that hospital grade disinfectants and sterilizers cost money $$$$ and owners often look to cut costs there because the customers cant see it. The manicurist workers also know sanitation laws but cant do anything if the owner will not provide the proper disinfectants and sanitation. I have a friend who is a esthetician and his salon boss is too cheap to pay for disinfectant and he is so disgusted, he brings his own disinfectant to work with him. go after the owners, not the workers. They all know the laws.

@meganavila81718 жыл бұрын
only once. every client gets a brand new file, buffer , & pumice stone. all metal implements need to be disinfected after each client. scrubes with antibacterial soap , rinsed then completely submerged in Barbicide.

Dazz Ling that's good but salons are still required to clean them properly before using them. Most don't, but that's part of the issue here. Im freaking out my schools implements are so bad they're WHITE they look wayyyyyy worse than those buffers I told them how can they use them over and over again ? they told me they can sanitize them with alchohol and thats what they do for everyone they make them reuse foot paddles with the same claim that they sanitize them with alchohol now here theyre saying its illegal but at school theyre saying it depends on your state which is it !? they also just spray everything with water plain water ! not soap n water not alchohol n water.water. like thats going to do anything if not make things worse.The worse thing is what can I really do about it I'm stuck in a contract I cant break :'( I actually did but they guilted me back into returning and "commiting to my future" more like their wallets ! They also told everyone was theyre getting a kit valued at $500 and its a flipping dollar manicure kit..... barely 4 weeks in... :( I can tough it out n do the best I can but will it be good enough for the stateboard :/

+MAKE ART NOT WAR I'm in North Carolina and in Cosmetology school. We're told if its porous toss it out. Only metal and plastic can be sanitized and disinfected. We use Sanitizers and disinfectants on our work stations and tools. I know here in NC you can look up on the internet the state board regulations, rules and laws. You should contact your state board. We had a state board inspection at our school recently and it wasn't good, because some students weren't cleaning their tools because they figured what did it matter we only work on manikins.
@Diamndgirl208 жыл бұрын
Thankyou so much thats a really good idea im especially worried because the tools are white and crumbling apart they're so bad They spray the poros pieces with alchohol stick in barbacide and reuse untik it falls apart and my nails are now growing really strange and theyre telling me I did it to myself when they have never been like this before !! I also broke out in a crazy skin rash for a week which Ive never had before on my face and I was wondering if it could have been contact dermatitis. I thought they where giving us a kit theyre giving us a dollar store manicure kit at THE END of your course everything they want you to pay out of pockect and I cant afford my own clean tools now because Im paying them. Theyre trained to clean the station with A SPRAY BOTTLE FILLED WITH WATER. Not disinfectant though they have regular cleaners around were not allowed to use them to clean only WATER and they also resuse their foot paddles on EVERYONEEEE for pedicures and its pushing me to the point of madness Im afraid of backlash Im afraid nothing will change and theyll make my life hell but im more afraid of my nails permanently staying like this as well I really hope they can help me. Thankyou so much for your advice Im going to try reaching out to them a board member here ♡ The thing that saddens me is they expect everyone to be quiet and not say anything about the big elephant in the room that is were using dirty tools I feel like this nasty terrible habit will stick with these girls after they graduate.

+MAKE ART NOT WAR The first week I was in school we were told that anything porous was to be tossed out and was not able to be cleaned. I would seriously be reporting your school to the state board. One of our local private schools just got shut down a few months ago for not giving out proper materials and having students reuse materials that were designed for 1 customer. I'd highly recommend that you wear gloves when working on a customer. These salons are the reason I went back to school to get my license. I'm over seeing my friends and family getting fungus and infections from these shops.
