DIRTY PAIR isn't what I thought...

I feel like based on what I've read of the dirty pair comics... A perfect depiction of dirty pear would be a combo of dirty pair flash and the TV series. The comic is very sexualizing, yet still has all of the charms and crazy weird sci-fi concepts from the original tv series. Dirty pair flash is more similar to the comics in terms of hard sci-fi, darker and grittier.. action.. But then the TV series is like the comics but in the other way. Like You said the depiction of Kay and Yuri being charming Yuri being The ultra effeminate one, yet also a computer genius, and kei being a Crock-Pot shot, but also having anger issues. But the comic also shows the in between stuff like from the original series and OVA. The more spy-like aspects. And every day slice of Life things like the girls painting their nails and such

In the old college-campus VHS days--when subs were a luxury, dubs didn't exist, and you'd trade your grandmother for a genuine Animag synopsis--TWO shows hooked newbies instantly. One was Lum, and the other was Kei & Yuri. Nowadays, we can just tell them, "Imagine 'Totally Spies' with bigger guns."

When I first heard about this anime years ago I thought it was an ecchi, but when I decided to finally watch one episode I thought it was actually pretty good. Old school anime are such gems.

Based on what I've seen from other videos/sources, the Dirty Pair TV series had a strong loyal fan base at a time when the TV network was courting a bigger general mass audience, so the ratings were actually pretty good, but not good enough for the network.

To me, it couldn't be more obvious that Project Eden is the peak of the entire series. It's the most fun a movie could possibly be and it might be the best example of that 80s aesthetic, it looks fantastic. Now the Flight 005 conspiracy I didn't like all that much, it was weird how they made it more violent and dark than the tv show.
