For someone who is COMPLETELY new to modding, and in her fifties, this took me a while to get my head around, whilst also fixing the orraneous trip-ups that came along with my individual setup (like having to restart my Steam copy of Skyrim SE to allow SSEEdit (xEdit) to do it's thing), but I got there in the end and am so glad that I found YOUR modding series, rather than relied on fudging around different modding videos, as I was, trying out different things for myself. This is when I am so thankful for KZbin - there's always someone who does it better if you look hard enough. Thank you for sharing your knowledge - I, for one, am very grateful and appreciative.

Navmeshing is a beast of a topic in and of itself. In blackreach for example there's navmeshing poylgons floating in the air and stuck to those glowing fungus tendrils dangling from the roof. Bethesda did an absolute hatchet job in that regard and it's no small miracle NPC's can find there way around at all. In many cases a modder deleting Bethesda's default navmeshing is usually followed by them laying down a new one by hand to ensure NPC's can path smoothly. I can't count the number of house and quest mods broken by well intention mod users assuming just because TesEdit points to a change in navmeshing that there's an issue that needs to be resolved when the changes were the fix in the first place. I don't know why but most mod authors loath navmeshing so when i joined the modding community when Nexus mod's launched near '07 i took on the task of laying down navmeshing and did so without a single complaint for the better part of a decade and spanning two games. Then a couple of well meaning but ill informed mod authors released tools that made mod users feel like they were contributing to the community by making "fixes" to mods that had worked for years perfectly fine before they came along. Then within the span of a couple of months literally hundreds of mod authors got flooded with complaints that their mods were suddenly breaking only to find out it was because people had watched a Gohpervids tutorial on how to Tes5Edit and decided that a 15 minute tutorial mode them smarter then the people who were doing things hands on for years. The fact is it's perfectly fine and should be common practice to clean your own mods you made yourself but if it's not your mod you should leave them as-is.

I'd like to add a little hint to help you keep track of downloaded and installed mods. In the Downloads tab, you can right click on any mod and select "Hide Installed". It will remove them from the list, not the disk. This helps you keep track of the mods you still have to install.

Right after using SSE Edit Quick Auto Clean for the first time, I got this warning from MO2: "There are files in your overwrite mod (No guided fix) There are currently files in your Overwrite directory. These files are typically newly created files, usually generated by an external mod tool (i.e. Wrye Bash, xEdit, FNIS, ...). Creation Club ESL files will also end up here when downloaded. Any files in Overwrite will take top priority when loading your mod files and will always overwrite any other mod in your profile. It is recommended that you review the files in Overwrite and move any relevant files to a new or existing mod. You can do this by double-clicking the Overwrite mod and dragging files from the Overwrite window to a mod entry in the main mod list. It is also possible to move all current Overwrite files to a new mod by right-clicking on the Overwrite mod. Not all files in Overwrite need to be removed, but there are several reasons to do so. Some generated files will be directly related to the active mods in your profile and will be incompatible with different mod setups. Since Overwrite is always active, this could cause conflicts between profiles. Additionally, moving relevant game files into a normal mod will give you greater control over those files. Some files can live safely in Overwrite, such as basic logs and cache files. It is up to you to understand how best to manage these files. If you do not wish to see this warning and understand how to handle your Overwrite directory, you can open the Mod Organizer settings and disable this warning under the "Diagnose Basic" plugin configuration." Is this anything to worry about? I've gone ahead and turned off the warning in the settings like it suggested.

major benefit of these bit by bit videos for someone like me are nuggets like this archiving of the cleaned setup...ive always been blessed to have overly adequate storage solutions so i respect my situation is not for everyone...but since the early days of Freelancer Modding ive been prone to zipping entire folder sets at once while setting up a mod configuration so if i mucked a setup i simply deleted the entire structure and unzipped the previous...works welll BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE SPACE so not suggesting that for just anyone...but im weird...sometimes i have more fun modding a game than playing it at all...getting the mods to work together is more fun in some weird way...so back to this video...just this one nugget lets me create such an incremental start set for ANY experimentation i may decide to mess with...KUDOS mate and thnx in advance for more to come

I may be mistaken, but my grandpappy taught me that ITM is a problem when: Mod 1 - modifies some stuff Mod 2 - has ITM records for the same stuff = anything Mod 1 modified that is ITM in 2 is going to be overwritten. Mod conflicts are a thing, but in this case they are happening for no reason.
@aielias895 жыл бұрын
What you are describing are just normal record overwrites between mods. ITM records are records that already exist in the base Skyrim.esm and therefore are just unnecessary duplicate edits in a mod. In he description you gave, the issue is that the records in Skyrim.esm are being overwritten by Mod 1 but Mod 2 reverts them back because they are duplicates of the ones found in Skyrim.esm. So yes, i guess you are describing the issue correctly. Still even if you didn't have Mod 1 for the time being, if you were to get it later and sorted it properly it would cause issues which is why it's best to just get rid of all ITM records of the get go. Especially those in the DLC which you already are using. :)

Now Wrye Bash seems to be another tool, but its a mod tool like Mo2, so In this case, I am taking it "Revenge Of the Enemies" is not compatible and thus not something we can use in our Mod Build?

Have you or anyone noticed that after cleaning a file (I wanted to test this out by cleaning one file, which was the Prometheus no snow under roof), it now takes about 6 to 10 seconds before the timer counts down when you use the "wait" (pressing T on Keyboard) feature? It wasn't always so. So what I did, was deleted that Prometheus mod, then reinstalled it to get that "hasn't been cleaned error" message (to revert back to how it was before), but now it still takes that 6 - 10 seconds before the timer counts down. EDIT: And now suddenly, as if by magic, everything is back to normal again. I wanted to do a test first of all, and I started a new game. I know it autosaves as soon as you step off that cart during the execution/character creation. No Pause at all, just a the super brief one like usual when it does any kind of save. I then hit the quicksave, pretty quick and normal like usual. I loaded up my main high level game and now it saves/quicksaves all quickly again. And when I use the wait feature, the counter starts after maybe a second at most, so everything is back to normal again. I'm also using original Prometheus no snow mod BEFORE I cleaned it mind you. I'm not using that SSEEDIT ever again LOL, but that could just be me?
