Dont judge by high quality studio and cd performances. Studio recordings just sound so flawless nowadays that people easily ignore the artistic quality when listening to mere live performances. Imperfection is beauty ;)

If Bjork released an album with these sorts of tunes on it I would be listen to it daily. It sounds quite island-y.

I agree that in most circumstances it is disrespectful. However, in this particular instance it was a fundraiser at a bookstore for homeless men women, and children suffering from aids. Sometimes that sort of thing draws a family oriented crowd...

@Generlcapgun I'm afraid it's your ear that's shit...because he IS in tune. Actually, he sounds perfectly in tune. Regardless, if professional musicians ever seem to be slightly out of tune, it's usually technique. Especially if you're working with harmonies or drones, sometimes a guitarist will tighten or loosen their strings ever so slightly to get a little more fullness with the vocals or other instruments.

I'm not trying to be rude, but they are experimental, not outsider. Outsider is a reference to art created by the mentally disabled. But I agree, B is really wonderful for her appreciation of amazing musicians!

Hahaha great comeback kid! Are you the kid? I am from NYC and my first concert was Talking Heads in 1982. I was 3. What is your point? I'm sure the performers didn't like the kid there. I saw a Lou Reed concert a few years back where the audience told a mother to take her ranting kid out, and she did. It's disrespectful to the performers and the audience.

@mikeofcetacea outsider art more broadly refers to art that is made out of the established art community, or rather is outside of contemporary art community alltogether, as in they are not trained artists. its a matter of semantics i guess, and i know the movement was started with insane people, but whatever. the lead guy from the DP's plays his guitar upside down and left handed which could be seen as some sort of DIY outsider type thing... i dunno. they are freaking awesome tho.
