Hey AvE, thanks for the video! I heard you feel like you might be losing the guys talking in a shop factor, but I think it's just a bigger shop with more sheeple! Before I watched your videos nearly everything was a magical black box that I needed to pay a special wizard to fix. These videos really helped me realise it's all just kerjiggers doing very simple things working together. Just fixed the air mix servo motor in my car (it's winter here), a worm gear inside it had too much play in it and stopped chooching. I just moved the bushing on the motor that articulates with it and bam! Working again! I know it's not much, but I'm a research scientist by trade and these sort of things are normally ridiculously outside my world of hexokinase inhibitors and biomarkers. As tech gets more and more complex, even the so-called power users of the world will at some point call it a day and black-box-ify their machines. I guess I'm just trying to say that you're doing an important job here, demystifying the mystical, and I appreciate it!

I usually grease up the threads or use an arbor with lock pegs so you do not fully tighten the arbor

I love how you researched the topic Fluke and Danaher and then gave us a nice simple overview of what may go wrong at the company! It'd be friggin' skookum if you could make a vijeo (or even a series) in which you present the worst culprits of such business mismanagement. It'd be like a public service announcement, a black book in which all the shitty companies and their doings are outlined. Reading through some of the comments under the Fluke video, many wrote about their work experiences at such companies; you could also integrate their stories (provided they are verifiable of course)

I realized I may have an AvE "problem" when I'm working on a shed with my father and I say a sentence and see him looking at me like I'm on acid going "wait what?" I'm like" the drill is losing its chooch factor I need a new Batteria" So, I'm trying to break it down, chooch meaning how well the drill is (realizing it's better if he is kept in the dark) And I finally had to say " The battery is going dead, do you have a spare?" That's only one of many instances. It's also weird because we have our own language where I'll say something and people overhearing me are confused, he leaves and comes back with exactly what I'm asking for. He was the one putting power tools in my hand as a toddler. Bless him for that. Because of that I can now almost change a lightbulb.
