So how does EMTALA apply to an ER patient who becomes violent and abusive prior to receiving an MSE? Is it considered an EMTALA violation if security escorts the offending patient off property before the MSE is performed?

Is EMTALA relevant for inappropriate bed assignments for the admitted patient and can the patient be transferred back to the ED until an appropriate bed/room is assigned?
